whoami?

“whoami is a command found on most Unix-like operating system; Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008. It is a concatenation of the words “Who am I?” and prints the effective user name of the current user when invoked. It has the same effect as the Unix command id-un.” “The output of the command is slightly different from $USER because whoami outputs the user name that the user is working under, whereas $USRE outputs the user name that was used to login. For example, if the user logged in as John and su into root, whoami displays root and echo $USER displays John. This is because the su command does not invoke a login shell by default.”Information taken from Wikipedia.

ISSUE SEVEN! Helloo!! First of all, come on Team GB.! Secondly, this issue will be more image based than any other issues that we have done so far. Just saying.

! Fashion expresses individuality. or does it? ! A very repetitive question, but often asked by interviewers to certain influential individuals in the industry. Few of us would say fashion “helps” us to express who we are, some say it define our personality. ! I say fashion is the way we live, the way we live our lives, simply a lifestyle. It shouldn"t be defined, shouldn"t have guidelines, but of course at the end of the days, it influences by our surroundings - media, relative behaviours. ! But all it takes was just few seconds of consideration - “let"s wear boot-socks with brogues and shorts” instead of “shorts, so no socks and boat shoes like all my friends do” ! This issue is a collective of what I"ve done, for leisure or professionally, in the past, even though it would be a clash of themes, but fuck it. ! Alongside of course, the essential update from London Fashion Week, few trend predictions that me and my team squeezed out all our brain juice for. ! This summer, will be the busiest out of them all, believe me.

! In the web-obsessed world of fashion, a new breed of bloggers, are becoming some of the industry"s brightest stars. Personal style bloggers put themselves out there, with their websites, blogs and other social websites providing a platform for self-expression. Personal style bloggers are accessible, and achieve huge web based followings, it"s no wonder those in the fashion industry and beyond have embraced personal style bloggers as internet celebrities. I have compiled a list of the most influential personal bloggers and sites that you need to know about…

Pelayo Diaz aka Prince Pelayo - Katelovesme.net

This 22 year old, Saint Martins Graduate from Madrid has quickly become London"s new IT boy. His blog covers everything from fashion, parties and holidays, from the exciting life of this Spanish blogger. Style wise he is a mix of London punk, eclectic, bold, but never garish. Mixing high-end fashion to create an exciting new approach to men"s fashion with endless press coverage as fashion week. With 45K Blog views and over 22k twitter followers, he"s become a real influence within fashion blogging. Now working with the Spanish brand Davidelfin, designing accessories, DJ-ing at the greatest parties and recently asked to model the s/s13 Auslander show, The #Prince" is showing why he deserves his crown.

Neslihan and mi-ji aka Style seeking zurich -http://styleseekingzurich.blogspot.co.uk

Established in 2008, “Style seeking Zurich” is a lifestyle blog from the personal point of view of two girls in their mid-twenties from Zurich, Switzerland. With accessible fashion, desirable lifestyles, all linked within vivid photography, it"s easy to see how this blog has made our list.

Pascal Grob aka Fashion bits and bobs - fashionbitsandbobs.com

The second fashion blogger to hail from the city of Zurich, Pascal start blogging back in 2009. Studying fine art, specialising in photography at the university of arts in Zurich, its not surprising this kid has a blog crammed full of stunning photography, both of his personal style, street fashion and personal inspiration. When it come to his own appearances, with his signature frames and understated classicism, its clear to anyone with eyes this kids got style.

DEFINE. by William Lee

Page 25: WestFASHION MAGAZINE ISSUE 7

Hanneli Mustaparta - www.hanneli.com

Being a former model we!d expect Hanneli to have good style, luckily this is true, and furthermore she can spot it too. A great mix of personal and street style, her blog highlights, successfully put together fashion. Seen hosting the 2010 "Fashions big night out! with Andre Leon Talley Hanneli comes across as fun going and accessible. In early 2011 the international clothing brand Zara licensed and issued several "Hanneli Mustaparta! self-portrait T-shirts which was sold worldwide.

Robin Gervais aka Robin G - http://therelevantglance.blogspot.co.uk/

The one to watch - the fact is, if you have an interest in street style you!ve probably seen his face. The 19 year old student from France, started out photographing his effortless personal style on LookBook and then moving over to his own independent blog. With a look that is desired by men and lusted over by women, Robin has always had a large web-based following. His model good looks hasn!t gone unnoticed by the fashion world, with Swedish retailed H&M asking the Frenchman to model in their Fashion Against Aids campaign.

Karla Deras aka Karlascloset - http://www.karlascloset.com/

Former member to the crime against music band, Slumber Party Girls, Karla thankfully is a better blogger than singer. Now, she!s a student at FIDM in Los Angeles, her style is simplicity, androgyny and femininity answers for her huge following. On the importance of blogging as a medium, she replied "I believe blogs allow people to express themselves whether it be through fashion, art, or music. You browse through so many blogs and you get to see how everyone's surroundings affect what they wear, how they act.!

Page 26: WestFASHION MAGAZINE ISSUE 7

Peter Henderson aka Hapsical - http://hapsical.blogspot.co.uk/

19-year-old Londoner Peter Henderson started out, like any other teen bloggers on lookbook.nu, but has since developed a stand-alone site exploring fashion, art, design and culture. Raf Simons himself, described Hapsical as the "new generation [of] communication". Peter describes the reason for his love of blogging to “the ability to see what other like-minded real people are wearing,[and] the able to share what you're wearing yourself with the world, and seehow people react to it.” His look is strong, with an emphasis on clean bold graphic design elements combined with successfully written content; it simply, is a fashion blog for !smart" people.

Rumi Neely aka fashiontoast - http://www.fashiontoast.com/

Neely began her site in 2008. By 2009, it was receiving over 35,000 hits per day and then In February 2011, she won both Best Personal Style Blog and Blogger of the Year at the Bloglovin' Awards. You might say this girl has made it, and in the fleeting life of a style blogger, she is certain to Sercombe to the hoards of American apparel teens. But no, we believe there"s plenty of hope for this blogging veteran.

Elisa Goodkind & Lily Mandelbaum aka Style like u - http://stylelikeu.com/

Many of you probably reading these suggesting and thinking, !I"ve got better style than some of these punks" well yes, this might very well be true. Not many blogs celebrate the personal styles of the everyday person. Not true with style-like-u with their slogan, !Freedom of expression through personal style" their mission is to document inspiring people that are in their lives.Documentary-styled video in which the individual explains what inspires them and their style of course. As well as discussions on various themes within fashion such as the role of gender.

CRUISE13 & BEYOND

SS13

LEATHERS:

Single breasted or Double-beasted, but make sure about the sculpture fitted / boxy fitted.

TRIMS:

Finalise the outfit with some “gayness”. Dash of brights at the edge of garments are coming in.

CROPPED TROUSERS (HIGHER):

It must looks like you have grown out of them trousers. MUST.

A quick reminder of what Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 will look like, and few predictions about Spring-Summer 13. Yes, one year ahead. God knows what!s gonna happen, you know, 21st December 2012? Look out for SS13 for indication.

Page 36: WestFASHION MAGAZINE ISSUE 7

SS13

BLACK ON TEXTURED BLACK:

It seems like all designers have fallen back to their “heritage” and bought out all blacks designs - Costume National,

Dolce & Gabbana, Dries Van Noten shown above.

Although black on black, the garments texture are varied from wool to leather, from nylon to traditional cotton.

Few ideas:

Turtle neck jersey replace shirt, worn under jackets. (same for the ladies)

Black oversized cape worn over suit jacket, if you!re feeling under the weather.

After all, it will brighten up in a year time for the dudes.

Page 37: WestFASHION MAGAZINE ISSUE 7

IMAGE PRINTED:-

Either you want a dolphin or a dog on your shirt or jumper, it!s all covered. Footsteps from the previous season,

where we saw some world-known landmarks and some creature being attached or printed onto garments. Will it get

worse seeing animal!s action on a garment? Who knows.

FORMAL - NEW CASUAL:

Lots of unusual prints and designs appeared under the formalwear silhouette, it might starts a trend with wearing

the dog print on your suit jacket becomes a formal wear.

Page 38: WestFASHION MAGAZINE ISSUE 7

SS13

ASYMMETRIC CUT:

Enhance movement and personalise how the garment will hang or flow depending on the wearer.

Skirt with the cut is the most common, while the jumper could be seen slowly coming into trend.

COLLAR-LESS:

Collarless / grandad shirt have been a staple in men!s wardrobe for about few seasons now, this season coming up,

it is ladie!s turn.

Collar-less jacket have been seen on the runway for the men. It is not widely available just yet, but people who

wants to steps ahead, try vintage stores that stocked 1960 era!s clothing or online bidding.

FUTURISTIC WITH TWIST OF METALLIC:- (by Harry)

Going back to February, when I predicted metallic will makes it way back into the trends. Now seems like it!s

coming true with SS13, as more metallic and space garments been dashing out along the runway.

The above are taken from various seasons from designer such as James Long, Francesca Marotta.

All shall see in one year time, if Metallic will diffuses into a high street trend.

DID WE MISS SOMETHING OUT? Is there a trend that you can see it moving into High Street fast that we didn!t mention? Or a trend bubbling underneath the scene round you that you think it will become big? Drop us an email mentioning “I!m a trend-setter” to the address mentioned in P.2
