Please note for the month of December Adoration will end at 6pm with no Holy Hour. There will be no Adoration on December 26 & January 2. The normal schedule will return January 9, 2020.

Dear Parishioners -

In working with Karen over the last month, we see

there is a good number of second collections. Be-

ginning with the new year there will be a reduction

in the number of second collections and your

envelopes will now be mailed bi-monthly. We

moved to the bi-monthly option to save money

and keep our data base current. If you do not re-

ceive January/February envelopes, it means we do

not have you as a registered family using envelopes.

We have ordered additional sets that Karen can

provide to you by either stopping in the office or

contacting her.

The first Sunday of the month (Capital & Mainte-

nance Fund) and the 5th Sunday of the month

(Mercy Mission) are the only two second collec-

tions for 2020. Any other envelopes will be includ-

ed in the first collection.

Al trabajar con Karen durante el último mes, vemos

que hay una buena cantidad de segundas colecciones.

A partir del nuevo año habrá una reducción en el

se enviarán por co-rreo cada dos meses. Cambiamos

a la opción bimensual para ahorrar dinero y mante-

ner actualizada nuestra base de datos. Si no recibe

sobres de enero / febrero, significa que no lo tene-

mos como familia registrada usando sobres.

Hemos ordenado sobres adicionales que Karen pue-

de pro-porcionarle, ya sea parando en la oficina o

contactándola.

El primer domingo del mes (Fondo de Capital y

Manteni-miento) y el quinto domingo del mes

(Misión de la Miseri-cordia) son las únicas dos segun-

das colecciones para 2020. Cualquier otro sobre se

The Christmas party at the Ridgeland Correc-tional Institution on December 3 was a huge success. Thank you to all who provided goody bags for the in-mates. The inmates were truly grateful! Thank you to all who volunteered to attend. La fiesta de Navidad en la Institución Correccio-nal de Ridgeland el 3 de diciembre fue un gran éxito. Sr Mary Fran is always looking for folks wanting to help serve or donate items for the needy in

our area. • The Food Pantry hours are • Wednesday & Thursday 10am - 2pm • The Thrift Store hours are • Wednesday - Friday 10am - 2pm Sister is working on having Mercy Mission open on Saturdays. Please call Sister if you can help!

COMING SOON! SAVE THE DATES!

Several years ago, our parish began to have special evenings, entitled, “Amazing Grace and Dinner, Too”. We would

meet in the parish family center (next to our chapel) and begin a talk about topics that touched our lives and faith. After

the talk, we would sit together and share a meal and the pleasure of being together. There was a nominal cost for dinner.

While soft drinks were provided, parishioners could bring beverages of their choice. We are happy to continue these spe-

cial evenings with two dates set for our newest topic about “wisdom”. Please mark your calendars for Friday, January

24, 2020 and February 21, 2020 at 5 p.m. in the parish family center. Dinner immediately follows our talk so that we

can grow wise together!!!

SHARING THE WISDOM OF TIME

Wisdom is a virtue, a gift, that has been sought after throughout the centuries. We can

recognize it in others and sometimes even in ourselves. We seek to be wise when we are trying

to answer new questions or when we are sorting out the more important things of life from the

lesser. Pope Francis felt this subject was so important, that in his prayer, he was inspired to

shine a light on this gift and the vital role that we, in later life, can share.

In a new book entitled, Sharing the Wisdom of Time, over 250 letters from people cur-

rently living around the world were collected to tell their wisdom stories. Pope Francis re-

sponds to these letters with reflections from his own life.

We welcome you to join us for an evening of storytelling and conversation about how

we foster the deeper understanding of wisdom in our lives today

The Posada | A Christmas Tradition in Mexico. ... As part of the Christmas celebration, traditional fiestas called Mexican posadas (inns) are held for family, friends, and neighbors. A posada is the reenactment of the Census pilgrimage to Bethlehem by Mary and Joseph (los peregrinos) in search of a room.
