M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan: Making Adjustments, Seeking The Eternal Reward

  • A.M. Sermon Notes

    Ken Gennicks preaching

The Priority of the Church: We Value Sharing Our Faith(Mark 15:16)

  • Applying Today’s Sermon to Your Life

    1. Because we value sharing our faith, this sermon is intended to equip us to explain the simple gospel message with a friend. For me, today’s study (check all that apply):

Is new information that I’ve never considered

Clarifies some details of the gospel message

Reviews details that I’ve studied before

Will help me share my faith with someone I have in mind

Convicts me to follow Christ as my Savior

Challenges me to more readily share my faith

Makes me even more thankful for Jesus

    Doesn’t really interest me

Affirms that I should have stayed in bed today

Has me wondering when this service will end

    Other:

    2. When it comes to sharing our Christian faith, our New Testament says, The love of Christ compels us (2 Corinthians 5:14).And the Bible clearly states, We try to persuade men (2 Corinthians 5:11). Make a list of ways that you could try to persuadepeople that there is a God of love who wants to reach out to them through the cross of Christ:

    A.

    B.

    C.

    D.

    3. A short New Testament book, called Philemon, says in verse 6, I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so thatyou will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. The Christian life grows stuffy and boring unlessI stay active in sharing in my faith. List three people for whom you will pray for an open door to share your faith and toexplain the gospel:

    A. B. C.

    4. Sometimes we worry about what people are going to say if we invite them to church or if we speak to them about our faith. But if someone you know enters eternity without Christ, what will they say then? Which scenario should you be mostconcerned about? Why?

    5. There may be some people in our lives that would not accept the gospel message from us, but they might be more open tohearing it from someone else. What might be the best thing to do in this situation? Why?
