Knowledge
Memorization. The material is ‘known’ in a laundry-list way
Comprehension
The material can easily be restated or summarized by the learner.
Application
Information is used to solve problems or create practical applications.
New connections are made between relationships of the information
Analysis
Identifying components of successful applications (especially new previously unknown applications) of the information.
Noticing how it is constructed

All 6 levels can exist in elementary school
School Lunch
Knowledge: Today there are nachos and beef stroganoff
Comprehension: Nachos are cheese sauce/meat/tomatoes on chips. Beef stroganoff is meat glop on noodles.
Application:I find both these to be yucky, ergo I will pack my lunch today.
Analysis:I like mac ‘n’ cheese. Nachos has cheese, and stroganoff has noodles. Maybe I can get the lunch lady to put cheese sauce on the noodles.
Synthesis: I know! I’ll microwave my milk, put the cheese sauce in the carton and stir it up, get a couple of those crouton packets and the skinny milk straws, and my lunch table will have fondue!
School Lunch
Evaluation: The other lunch table is mocking us, and are even threatening to report us to the lunch ladies about our “nacho abuse”. However, we need their support to continue the Thursday impromptu fondue experience, as many members of their lunch table are on the lunch menu advisory board. We need to invite them to our table next Thursday and show them why fondue impromptu should continue to be allowed, and figure out why they have such a problem with it.

A: Analysis level– Why?
Q: “Gaming in Full Bloom” was such a success that Steve Jobs has commissions a sequel game from you. However, it needs to interface with the mythical iPad3000, cure cancer and baldness, and be intuitive enough for a lazy 2 year old to manipulate.
A: Synthesis level
Q: Your game has limited appeal. All of humanity own/love this game, but the honey badger population doesn’t seem to care. How can you market “Gaming in Full Bloom II” for iPad3000 to this undertapped demographic?
A: Evaluation level
