The National Botanic Garden of Wales is located in the heart of Carmarthenshire’s Towy Valley. Gorgeous flower beds, dreamy lakeside walks, beautiful views, stunning modern architecture

and lovingly restored historic buildings combine to make this a uniquely romantic place to get married and a breathtaking backdrop for your photographs.

The Great Glasshouse

This unique and unforgettable location offers not just a memorable venue but is a versatile space for any type of civil ceremony or celebration.

The Great Glasshouse is available for Civil Ceremonies and can accommodate up to 150 people.

Facilities

The Marquee

The elegant Marquee is situated to the rear of the main Seasons Restaurant and is classically draped in ivory. It has its own bar and private walled garden patio. This venue is available for a wide variety of functions.

The Marquee accommodates up to 150 guests in a seated dining capacity and 180 for a buffet.

All facilities are accessible to the disabled.

The Outdoor Performance Stage

A beautiful oak framed open sided building set in the Outer Walled Garden. This venue can accommodate up to 150 guests.(You will need to choose one of our other venues as a wet weather alternative.)

Gallery & Courtyard

The Gallery is part of the old Stable Block and has a high arched ceiling reminiscent of church architecture. This delightful room has been tastefully converted offering a classic yet modern venue for receptions, thus all adding to the ambience.

The quiet tranquility of the Gallery makes for an ideal location for intimate events.It can accommodate up to 68 guests in a theatre style for the Ceremony. Licensed all year round for the Civil Ceremony, it is suited to smaller parties or a drinks reception prior to the wedding breakfast. The displays of artwork add to the pleasant atmosphere which encourages relaxation and conversation.

The Courtyard makes for a charming setting in the summer, whilst the indoor dining facilities can accommodate up to 40 guests.

The Gallery in the Garden £500 Ceremony only (68 people max) Including Reception (40 people max)

The Marquee £2000 Reception (150 people max)

The Great Glasshouse £1200 Ceremony only (150 people max) The Outdoor Performance Area £TBC

Pictures only £120 (For groups of up to 50 in all parts of landscape)

A non-refundable deposit of 50% 0f venue hire will be requested at time of booking Prices current at January 2016 V.A.T is not included and will be added at the prevailing rate.

The Wedding Packages includes:

FREE private car parking within the Garden.

FREE entry to the Garden for all guests.

FREE access to all areas for photographic purposes. Buggy Service available

The Registrar

Our local Registry Office is in Carmarthen, you will need to contact the Registry Office of Carmarthenshire County Council (Tel: 01267 228210). It is imperative that you contact the Registrar, as they, or a member of their staff, will be the one to conduct the Ceremony at the Gardens.

We must receive written confirmation from you that the Registrar has been retained prior to the booking with the Garden being confirmed.

Wedding Packages

Our bespoke wedding packages can provide you with all requirements for your wedding day. We are very pleased to offer you assistance and advice on entertainment, florists and other extras for your celebration. Our wedding coordinator will meet with you to discuss your ideas and will assist in creating your perfect day.

The National Botanic Garden of Wales prides itself in the standard of food and hospitality that it offers for your special day.

From our plot to your plate…

We work hard to bring you the best of locally produced fresh food and source as many of our ingredients and services as possible from other local producers and suppliers. Seasonal fruit and vegetables are picked daily from our Double Walled Garden. We have a choice of menus and styles of food on offer.

You may wish to discuss your requirements with our catering partner “Strawberry Shortcake” and they will create a bespoke menu for you.

Strawberry Shortcake Dining is a unique caterer based in Carmarthenshire providing high-end wedding & private dining for Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Wales & beyond. The company was founded by renowned chef Scott Davis and his partner Kirsty Manning. Carmarthenshire born Scott has worked in the world’s finest kitchens alongside the likes of Marco Pierre White, Jean-Georges, Nobu Matsuhisa and Gary Rhodes. Scott’s passion for food developed in to a finely honed skill for marrying traditional and innovative flavours and creating exquisite dishes.

Strawberry Shortcake offers a bespoke catering service to suit any occasion. We ensure that our clients receive outstanding service and a truly unique experience. We strive to source local produce and ingredients whenever possible.

We deal with local farmers, growers and fishermen who supply the best produce around, not only does this keep our carbon footprint to a minimum we know exactly where our meat/ingredients come from.

Provenance is at the heart of Strawberry Shortcake. We strive to support local producers and provide only the best. Our establishment and the Garden have recently received a hygiene rating of 5 issued by the Food Standards Agency.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Damage & Loss: Whilst every effort is made to care for you and your party’s belongings left on our premises, the National Botanic Garden of Wales cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage. Any damage caused by the customers to the fabric of the building, or grounds, roadways, equipment and car park will be fully charged; in respect of both labour and materials, in making the necessary repairs (inclusive of sub-contractors working on your behalf ). Departure: We request that all guests are off the premises by 12.30. Any transportation should arrive on site by 12.15 Corkage: We reserve the right to charge corkage on all drinks brought into the Garden. We would prefer not to be asked for a corkage facility, but we do appreciate that there may be a valid reason for such a request. We would ask that you discuss this in advance and also make your guests aware of the same conditions. Corkage per 75cl bottle of table wine is £6.00 and Champagne or Sparkling Wine is £7.50 per 75cl. Cancellation: The Garden reserves the right to charge the client for any loss of profit due to the cancellation, non-arrival or substantial reduction of the numbers confirmed for services that we are unable to re-sell or re-use. Prices: Prices quoted in this brochure are for the 2015/16 Wedding Season, however, we reserve the right to alter the prices, menus and Terms and Conditions given without prior notification.
