LOGO DESIGNSLogo Design 1The font used in this design is called Century Schoolbook. I chose this font because I wanted to experiment using a more classical and older style font, as most of my designs previously used more modern fonts. Furthermore I kept the colour scheme as monotone so that I could use the contrast of black and white to make the design more eye catching.

Logo Design 2The second logo design was inspired by the beautiful nature and wildlife that Malaysia is known for. To create this I found an image of a leaf and added a light glow texture. Then I reflected the image in the x axis to create a wider background that can surround the text. To suite the natural theme I wanted a handwritten style font, which is why I chose the Rage Italic font.

Logo Design 3For this design I was looking at a more modern and formal style. To do this I combined the more contemporary style Century Gothic font and a bright colour scheme, with some larger and a more classical piece of text, that I created myself using the pen tool to create the ‘VM’ initials. Although I like how this design looks, I do not think it suites the theme of the website as in my opinion it appears more like a design you could for a hotel chain.

FINAL LOGO DESIGN

Seen above is my final logo design. The design is very much based around the first logo design seen on the previous slide. I used the general layout of that design but combined it with the theme of nature that I have also explored previously. To incorporate the nature theme I used an image that is a birds eye view of a forest that reminded me a lot of the forests in Malaysia. I then used clipping masks to incorporate it into the background of the design and as a colour scheme for the Malaysia text. I also changed the font to Century Gothic as I felt the more modern style font better suited the theme I am looking at for the whole website. I also added a filter to the background image to enhance the shades of green and give it an almost Polaroid like effect that I find attractive. This image along with the green colour scheme will be used throughout the design of the whole website.
