Promoted to the level of incompetenceBig Think, Megan Erickson, December 2, 2011
An italian research points out that it is better to pro-mote people randomly than according to their skills.Promotions are frequently rewarding results someones
achieves without considering the factors over which hehas no control. Moreover, when a person excels in hisjobhe is usually handed more and more responsabili-ties.

ber of hours we spend at our ofce, but the energy webring in our daily work. This blog by Tony Schwartz, thepresident and CEO of The Energy Project, indicateswhy creating a workplace that fosters a reasonablerelationship between work and renewal will producehigher engagement and job satisfaction.
Internet and social networks
The future of the Internets here. And its creepyFast Company, Neal Ungerleider, December 21, 2011
The Arab spring brings to ones face the role of Inter-
net in a countrys rebellion, but also in a dictators re-pression. The same high-tech progresses enabling thecreation of an iPhone also help ominous governmentsurveillance projects. This article from Fast Companyreveals a terric side of the future of internet: 24/7 digi-tal surveillance will become affordable for repressiveregimes worldwide.
What is good fact-checking?Mother Jones, Mac McClelland, December 21, 2011
Fact checking, clearly increasing productivity for ma-nagers, is not always an easy task. This short postreveals why in true fact-checking, literally every wordof every factual statement must be traced to a primarysource, whether a document or the corroborated ac-counts of independent experts or witnesses.
