What is respite?
Respite means having
a rest
or
a break.
Carers sometimes need a rest. Your carer is the
person who helps you with your daily life.
You can choose what you want to do while your
carer has a rest. For example
someone can come to your house
you can stay at a Yooralla house
or
you can do an activity.
These are called respite services.

Meanings of words
Accessible Accessible means a place that people who use a
wheelchair or scooter can use. For example
a toilet
or
building.
Emergency When something happens that you didn’t expect.
Something that happens suddenly. For example
your carer gets sick
or
your carer can’t look after you.
Case Manager A case manager helps people with disability by
giving information about services
helping them to plan for the future
and
helping them achieve their goals.
