Year 5 had a safety talk from the Brighouse firemen as they always do around this time of the year. It’s a very valuable experience for our children to learn about fire safety and we are very grateful to the firemen for coming to school. Year 6 will soon be having a safety talk on drugs as they prepare to move onto high school.

Our Year 3 children had so much fun recently through their CSI Day and the writing which has come from the day has been fabulous. Thank you to all our staff in Year 3 and to the suspects who came to help them to make it as real an experience as possible. There seemed to be several possible suspects from Mrs Bromwich’s house which I’m sure should tell us something.

Here's a picture of Tiger with his new team mate Kai running the relay at Cleethorpes and the 800 metres. Tiger is doing really well this season now running in the under 13s, he is managing to hold his own. He is coming in either 4th or 5th in the sprints and 800 metres; lots more races are planned for the summer. He went so fast in the relay he ripped his number in two! Well done Tiger and thanks to mum for the photograph.

As you can see, Year 6 have been busy growing this half term and the allotments for all our year groups are looking fabulous. Special thanks need to go to Mrs Billington for all her hard work in maintaining the plots and working with children; she has big plans for the next stage in our garden
