Student Production LabProduction needs go beyond the basics offered in open computer labs. While some limited out-of-class access to production facilities are currently available in the International Media Center, the planned relocation of the center to the library raises the question whether even this limited capacity will be retained.

To fully support digital literacies and visual assignments we recommend students have access to the following facilities:

• sound booths equipped for recording high-quality audio • small studio space for video recording one-two individuals • high-end editing facility - a dedicated, professional quality editing environment • optimized for the creation of advanced video projects.• iPads• “Genius Bar” staffing - (Two RAs $25,000 for 20 hr. each or a single FT staff person

Total: $50,000)• large capacity digital storage opportunities for digital productions (10 TB+)
