Balancing the range of passions and interests of each person in your group to find the perfect place to volunteer can be the most daunting responsibility of being the team leader. But we haven’t met a group, yet, that didn’t whistle while they worked and beg to return because everybody can relate to helping a young person make the transition from hospital to home. Ranken Jordan is the country’s first pediatric bridge hospital. Kids with complex medical conditions come to our one-of-a-kind facility to get better and prepare for the transition to their new life at home and school. As a Volunteer Group, your team can contribute to many of the miracles that happen at Ranken Jordan every day! Our founder, Mary Ranken Jordan inspired her staff to “Consider the children first in all that you do.” Her intuitive philosophy has evolved into a practice we call “Care Beyond the Bedside” which means our kids are rarely in their room or in their bed! Instead, they are focused on being kids who just happen to be patients. Care Beyond the Bedside also means that we’re training and preparing parents and caregivers for a new normal to ensure the kids stay on a healthy path to living to their fullest potential. Group Volunteer Guidelines:• Max group size is five people• Each volunteer must sign a hold
harmless and confidentiality form (If under 18, forms require parent/legal guardian signature).
• 3pm–4pm, 4pm-5pm, 6pm–7pm
• Children younger than 18 need a chaperone
