Recreation, passive and active, plays an important role in our lives. The Lawrence

Township Recreation Department provides a variety of activities including sports

and league play for all ages, special events, community gardens and much more.

Our parks provide an opportunity for family picnics and trips to use the playground

equipment. This calendar outlines many of the programs scheduled for the Fall

and Winter. We make every effort to operate the programs as outlined in this bro-

chure but occasionally changes are necessary. Public input is always welcome and

enables the Recreation Department to expand and enhance programs and facili-

ties. Comments can be directed to the Recreation Office, which is open Monday to

Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Recreation Advisory Committee meets the 1ST

Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm and provides a mechanism for residents to

express themselves about recreational programming and/or facilities.

1. Programs and activities in this booklet are provided for the benefit of the resi-

dents of Lawrence Township. Consideration will be given to non-residents, if

space permits, at twice the registration fee.

2. Please note the Township refund policy. Individuals withdrawing from a pro-

gram, that has not yet started, will be assessed a fee of 25% of the registra-

tion fee paid. Once a program has started no refunds will be issued with the

exception of those programs which are cancelled, postponed or rescheduled

by the Recreation Department.

3. The Recreation Department reserves the right to modify any or all rules and

regulations and to alter schedules when necessary.

4. The Recreation Advisory Committee conducts its public meetings the First (1ST)

Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building. All Township

residents are encouraged to attend.

5. Individuals interested in receiving information about financial assistance for

registration fees should contact the Recreation Office at (609) 844-7067.

6. Additional information regarding Recreation Department programs, activities

and facilities can be found by visiting the Lawrence Township website at

www.lawrencetwp.com/rec.html

7. The Lawrence Township Recreation Office is located in the Municipal Building

on Route 206. The address is: 2207 Lawrence Road, Lawrence Township N.J.

08648. The telephone number is (609) 844-7067.
