Forms are due to the Extension
office by Friday, October
14 at 4:00 p.m. As a
reminder, if a state report form
is filled out, Level 1 is eligible
for a $50 camp scholarship;
Level 2 is eligible for a Teen
Conference scholarship; Level
3 is eligible to apply to attend
National 4-H Congress in
Atlanta, Georgia. Details can be
found in the 4-H Clover book.
AND REMEMBER – NO completed form, NO
recognition! You have to complete & submit at
least 1 form in order to be considered a member in
good standing & to receive a pin for that year.
VOLUNTEERS Volunteers will complete a
one-page paper volunteer
form and also be required
to register through 4-H
Online. Volunteer are
available online or at the
Extension office. New
volunteers will need to
complete the one-time
volunteer orientation.
4-H Youth in Action Awards As the highest honor
National 4-H Council
awards to 4-H youth, the
2017 awards will recognize
one remarkable 4-H’er
within each pillar area:
Agriculture; Citizenship;
Healthy Living; and STEM.
Each of the four 4-H Youth
in Action Awards pillar
winners will receive:
Scholarship: $5,000
scholarship for higher
education.
Public Recognition: An all-
expenses paid trip to
Washington, D.C. to be
recognized at Council's
Legacy Awards on March
21, 2017.
Spokesperson
Opportunities: Serve as the
National Youth
Spokesperson for their
recognized pillar area.
In addition, one National 4-
H Youth in Action Award
winner will be selected
from the four pillar winners
and receive an additional
$5,000 scholarship for
higher education.
All applications must be
submitted by 5:00 PM ET on
Monday, October 24, 2016.

Shooting Sports Leader Certification Camp JoOta
Clarence, MO Oct. 21-23
The workshop will be composed
of 18-20 hours of training.
Twelve hours of time will be for
a specific discipline. Training
will include covering the
curriculum & lesson plans from
the National 4-H Shooting Sports
program, opportunities to teach
to your peer group & a range
practicum. The philosophy and
principles of working with 4-H
youth is a critical part of the
training. Registration is now
open through 4-H Online until
August 31 or the workshop is

New 4-H Year &
Enrollment The new 4-H year starts October 1, 2016. Enrollment
will be through 4-H Online again this year. More information regarding enrollment will provided to club leaders as it becomes available. Annual membership dues are $20. Please review all information to make sure it is up to date. If you have forgotten your password, please use the reset password instead of creating a new profile. Info about new enrollments will be available online or by contacting the Extension office.
Youth covered by Managed Care Plans, also known as
Missouri Medicaid/MO HealthNet, may be eligible to have their membership
in one afterschool program or club paid by their
insurance company. To see if you qualify, call the
Member Services number for your insurer and request

The ins. company will verify eligibility & send a voucher in the mail with a red or blue stamp on it. Sign & date the

National 4-H Week
October 2-8 Wear green & your 4-H garb
everywhere! To church, school,
the grocery store, etc. - & make
sure I get photos, Facebook or
otherwise! The club with the
most DOCUMENTED 4-H
fashion sense will win a prize!
Celebrate the Clover - attend a
church as a club, display projects
in a business window, talk about
the 4-H program on social media,
invite a friend to a 4-H event, etc.
Get creative.
Grow True Leaders –
Shout Out National 4-H Council is
launching Grow True Leaders,
a campaign to empower youth
with the opportunity to share
their voice & show that their
skills are making a difference in
their communities. Campaign
began in April; runs through the
end of 2016, focusing on three
calls to action — Shout, Share
& Support. All 4-H members,
staff, volunteers & families are
asked to help raise the visibility of
4-H by posting “Shout Outs” on
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram &
websites using the hashtags
#TrueLeaders & #4HGrowsHere
to recognize the 4-H members,
volunteers & alumni who are true

Citizenship
Washington Focus
(CWF) Trip 2017
June 10-19
Cost: $2,300 Citizenship Washington
Focus (CWF) is a 4-H
leadership program for
high schoolers aged 14 to
18. 4-H members will stay
at the National 4-H Youth
Conference Center, near
Washington, D.C., and
participate in a week-long
program enriching their
lives with activities that
broaden their appreciation
and respect for themselves
and others. 4-H members will
tour national landmarks and
meet their elected officials. Side
trips to Fort McHenry and New
York City will follow the
conference. Cost will include
transportation, all meals,
lodging & tours.
Applications & first payment
due December 1, 2016.
Lesley Meier (Cape County 4-H
Specialist) will be a chaperone on
this trip. There is a meeting for
youth who are interested and/or
want to fundraise to pay for the
CWF trip on October 19th at
6:30 p.m. in the upper level
meeting room. If you are unable
to attend the meeting and are
still interested, let Lesley Meier

trivia begins at 7:00 p.m. The
cost is $200 per table ($25 per
person) with a maximum of
eight players per team. Ticket
prices include non-alcoholic
beverages. Teams are
encouraged to bring their own
food and drinks! Mulligans will
be available for purchase the
night of the event.
