About this manual

This manual describes the safe operation and maintenance

of the Transit Trolley..

The Transit Trolley is used for internal transportation of

boards in construction. Transit Trolley is motorized and can

transport a stack of plasterboard

to a given location on the building site, delivering the

plasterboard horizontally onto trestles. The Transit Trolley

can be driven up and down inclines of up to 7,5° (degrees),

but must not otherwise be used on sloping surfaces.

General safety precautions

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye

protection, protective gloves, a safety helmet and

protective, non-slip footwear when operating

the Transit Trolley and other MountIt machinery.

To ensure safety, high visibility clothing is also required

when operating the machinery.

Work area safety

• Keep the work area clean, free from clutter and well lit.

• Do not operate the Transit Trolley in explosive

atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids,

gasses or dust.

• Ensure bystanders are kept 3 meters away from

the Transit Trolley when in operation.

• Passenger transport is strictly prohibited.

Warning symbols

As there is a risk that hands, or other parts of the body

could become trapped in the machinery, the Transit Trolley is

marked with triangular hazard warning pictograms (shown

right).

Emergency stop

The emergency stop is located on the control handle.

Push the red button to activate.

Description

An electrically powered trolley for transporting up to

1300 kg of plasterboard – equivalent to 40 plasterboards

(1200 x 3000 x 12.5 mm), a stack height of 320 mm –

equivalent to 24 (12.5 mm) plasterboards. Operated via

the control handle, the Transit Trolley can lift a stack of

plasterboard horizontally f ro m trestles.

MAX LOAD

Max load: 1.300 kg

Maxsize: 1200 x 3000 mm

Max stack height: 320 mm

Before use

• Make a visual inspection to ensure that all parts are in

proper working order.

• All wire connections to the battery terminals should be 3 meters

tight, secure and free from corrosion.

• Use only during good sound conditions.

• Test drive the Transit Trolley for proper to ensure that it

drives, stops and steers properly.

• Test the hydraulic functions before operation the machine

with a load.

• Take time to train all other persons who will operate the

Transit Trolley and familiarize them with this user manual.

• Ensure a 3-meter safety zone around the Transit Trolley

when it is in operation.

• Check that the battery is charged. Please see page 20

for recharging instructions.

• Examine the route for slopes, and check that all power

cables, tools and building materials are removed.

• It is forbidden to use the tool as scaffold.

• Plasterboards should be centered on the trolley.

• Overload is not allowed.

CAUTION! Use only an approved

battery charger

Recharging

The plug for charging the Transit Trolley’s 24-volt battery is

found on the left side of the chassis in front of the hydraulic

cylinder.

• Read the battery Indicator (e) on the control handle.

Recharge the battery when the indicator shows “half full”.

Charging takes approximately 8 hours.

• It may take up to few seconds before it goes

into “Charge Mode”.

• The Transit Trolley cannot be operated during recharging.

• After disconnecting the charging plug it may take up to

few seconds before the charging mode disappears.CAUTION!

Note that there is oil in

the cylinder when the

platform is tilted. The oil

level in the reservoir

rises when the platform

is lowered. It must

therefore not be filled

completely

Hydraulic oil

Filling hydraulic oil can only take place when the hydraulic

bed is fully tilted:

• Remove the cap with the red top and fill to between MIN

and MAX or unitl you can see the oil in the inspection glass.

OIL TYPE: Shell Tellus 32

Lubrication Lubricate all pivot joints by pumping grease in all grease-

nipples at a six-month interval, or as required.

• Adhering to service intervals.

CAUTION! Never use a pressure

washer to clean

the trolley • The law requires that the machine must undergo an annual

inspection documented in the Transit Trolley operational

records.

• Repairs should only be performed by authorized persons.

Make sure that any hydraulic pressure is equalized before.

Cleaning

The Transit Trolley should be kept clean with water and

mild detergent.

• Never use a pressure washer to clean the Transit Trolley!

Lifting the Transit Trolley

The Transit Trolley weighs 350 kg. and must not be lifted

directly with a forklift. The Transit Trolley can be driven up

on a truck or dolly carefully if the ramp has a slope less than

7,5 degrees. Alternatively, this can also be carried out by

using a wire winch. The manoeuvre can cause entrapment.

Strap securely before shipment.

1. Approved lifting straps are fed through lifting lugs as shown.

2. Approved lifting straps should be placed under the chassis

as shown.

CAUTION! Do not lift with a forklift

CAUTION! Beware of wires

Why Mountit?

Based on the Danish Ministry of Environment’s require-

ments for the reduction of heavy lifting of plasterboard,

Mountit develops plasterboard handling systems that elimi-

nate manual handling from the point where plasterboard is

delivered to where it is mounted in place.

Mountit is constantly looking to improve it’s products, and is

very interested in hearing your opinion and suggestions for

improvements.
