to cite and build a Reference List

In MS Word 2007 / 2010 document, click on the
References tab and arrow next to Style: choose the style
on the dropdown menu and click on it
To insert an in-text citation, click in the text where the citation
needs to be inserted. Click on arrow next to Insert Citation. On
dropdown menu, click on Add new source
Click on an in-text citation if changes need to be
made, e.g. inserting page numbers, etc.

Click on the arrow on the right of the citation. A
dropdown menu will appear. Click on Edit Citation
Add page numbers and click OK. Or, make a tick
in relevant box to suppress author, year or title
and click OK
To insert a text reference to a source that has already
been cited, when you click on Insert Citation, find the
source listed above Add New Source
To insert a list of cited sources, place cursor where the
reference list must appear. Click on arrow next to
Bibliography and on the dropdown list, click on Insert
bibliography
To update the bibliography after an in-text source has
been added, click in the bibliography area so that it
changes to a grey highlighted area. Then right-click. A
dropdown menu will appear. Click on Update Field
