THE VERB BE WITH TIME AND WEATHER. (El verbo TO BE con el tiempo y el clima) Para expresar el estado del tiempo y la hora se utiliza el verbo TO BE.
• ASKING FOR THE WEATHER FORM (Forma)
What + be+ subject (+ like) Questions
It + Be+ Adjective Possible answers
What is the weather like? What’s the weather today? What’s it like outside?
It is terrible. / It is very cold. It is beautiful. / It is hot. It´s nice. / It is cool.
Adjetives to express what’s the weather like: (Adjetivos usados para expresar cómo es el clima)
Nouns Adjectives
Sun Sunny (soleado)
Rain Rainy (lluvioso)
Wind Windy (ventoso)
Cloud Cloudy (nubado)
Snow Snowy (nevado)

Armenia is warm. Armenia es cálido.
New York city is cloudy and cool in January. La ciudad de New York es nubada y fresca en Enero.
Tueson, Arizona is very hot and dry. Tueson, Arizona es muy caliente y seca.
Toronto, Ontario is very cold and windy.
Toronto, Ontario es muy fría y hace mucho viento. La Tebaida is hot and humid.
La tebaida es caliente y húmedo.

• DESCRIBING PLACES AND PEOPLE (Describiendo lugares y
personas) Para describir personas o lugares utilizamos el verbo BE y adjetivos.
Example: Jennifer Lopez is a famous singer. Angelina Jolie is beautiful. Rafael Nadal is an excellent Tennis player.
Recordemos que los ADJETIVOS amplían la información del sujeto de la oración, ya sea en cuanto a sus características, formas, orígenes, cualidades etc.
En Inglés los adjetivos se ubican antes del sustantivo. Example: This is good coffee. This is an expensive hotel.

• POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES (ADJETIVOS POSESIVOS)
Los adjetivos posesivos se usan para indicar a quién pertenece el sujeto u objeto de la oración. Van seguidos de un sustantivo.

• THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS (El presente continuo)
El presente continuo se usa para decir que estamos en el medio de una acción, es decir, que una acción se esta desarrollando en el momento en el que se está hablando o escribiendo.
Example: I am waiting for the bus. She is looking for a job. They are working at the hotel Las Gaviotas We are cleaning the rooms.
También se usa cuando las cosas están cambiando a través de un largo periodo de tiempo.
Example: The number of clients in this hotel is increasing. (El número de clientes de este hotel está aumentando) The earth is slowly getting warmer. (La tierra se está calentando lentamente).
FORMA: El presente continuo es el tiempo presente de BE + la forma ING
