Accounting and Accounting (Extended) graduates will meet the educational entrance requirements of CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). This will allow you to apply for Associate membership of CPA Australia, eligibility to study the CPA Australia professional exams and eligibility to study the CAANZ professional exams.

Successful completion of the Accounting or Accounting (Extended) major can also qualify students for exemptions from the Fundamental level (nine papers) of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exams.

The Accounting and Accounting (Extended) majors are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of International Accountants (AIA).

Accounting and Accounting (Extended) major students who complete a Finance minor will meet the educational entrance requirements of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia).

Are you an aspiring pilot? Study the Bachelor of Aviation Flight Operations and y in our

world-class ight simulator in your first year of study ocated at our USQ Springfield campus,

the simulator is based on the oeing 737-800 airliner and is able to replicate an entire ight.

With up-to-date equipment and technology, you will carry-out structured ground and air exercises typically found in the introductory

phase, allowing you to apply theory to practical applications. You will also be introduced to

y first prac placement was in second semester of first year. That was actually my first e perience working with children with disabilities and I knew I had found my home. I enjoy the challenge of being creative in lots of different ways, I always say to my teacher aides, `I want to do something creative because if I’m bored the kids are going to be bored.’

I’ve seen the progress these children can make and I know that they can do it, I just have to figure out how I can support them in being able to do it. I’m still learning and I’ll learn throughout my entire career.’

You will gain valuable classroom experience by completing 100–125 days of professional experience placements, depending on your specialisation (at least 50% of supervised placement must be completed in Australia) at a range of different locations. Completing one of your professional experience placements in a rural and remote area or overseas may also be an option.


Graduates are eligible to apply for teacher registration through the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). To be eligible for registration in Queensland, both domestic and international students must complete a minimum of 105 days supervised placement for Early Childhood, 95 days supervised placement for Primary and 80 days supervised placement for Secondary, as well as 20 days unsupervised placement for all three specialisations. Students are also required to pass the Personal Literacy and Numeracy (PLANTITE) Test prior to graduation. The Early Childhood specialisation is also recognised by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and the Office of Early Childhood Education and Care (Queensland).


Depending on your chosen specialisation, this degree can enable you to work as a teacher in a child care centre, kindergarten, primary school or secondary school. Teaching skills are in demand in other areas, including roles with human services and community-based government organisations, in the field of communication, educational management, personal training, and leadership.

‘I’m currently a student researcher and my research scholarship is based on plant research, plant breeding and genetic engineering. The research techniques we use in plants are similar techniques used in human research. Tuition fees vary depending on the degree or courses you are enrolled in. Eligible students can access student loans to help cover costs.

HECS-HELP

HECS-HELP is a loan that helps eligible Commonwealth-supported students to pay their tuition fees. You can choose to pay some or all of your fees up front. With a HECS-HELP loan you can make repayments via the tax system when your income reaches a certain level.

OS-HELP

OS-HELP is a loan that assists eligible Commonwealth-supported students to study a semester overseas. The OS-HELP loan can help you with airfares and accommodation.
