This is another step in DOGIPOT’s “green” initiatives to further increase the environmental friendliness of its products. DOGIPOT introduced its OXO-BIODEGRADABLE Litter Pick Up Bags in January of 2009 to a great response and high demand. Like the Litter Pick Up Bags, the new Liner Trash Bags include the same additive which allows the bags to first break down through oxidation (i.e., exposure to air). The oxidation causes the bags to flake and fragment into small pieces that then biodegrade. The addition of the OXO-BIODEGRADABLE DOGIPOT Liner Trash Bags is the final major piece in making the complete DOGIPOT product line extremely earth-friendly. All DOGIPOT bags and liners are OXO-BIODEGRADABLE and all of the DOGIPOT hardware products include recycled content and or recyclable material. DOGIPOT INTRODUCES OXO-BIODEGRADABLE LINER TRASH BAGS BENEFITS of OXO-BIODEGRADABLE DOGIPOT Litter Pick Up and Liner Trash Bags • Are made with recycled content and may be recycled • Great fit for landfill disposal, which is where most bagged dog waste goes • Avoids “corn controversy” [See DOGIPOT Winter-Spring 2009 Corporate News] • The bags will not emit any methane, unlike hydro-/biodegradable bags (i.e., corn based) which do in some circumstances • Degrades into CO2, water and biomass • Designed to meet US Standard Guide ASTM D6954-04 for Oxo-Biodegradation degradation • Reduces landfill volume, greenhouse gas effects and organic waste I n the Fall of 2009, DOGIPOT will introduce a newly designed Aluminum DOGIPOT Junior Bag Dispenser. The new dispenser will hold hanging bags. DOGIPOT also will introduce a new line of OXO-BIODEGRADABLE hanging bags (i.e., Header Pak Bags’) to fit in the new dispenser and which will fit in all other major brands of hanging bag dispensers. Though rolled bags are still the most cost effective and efficient packaging method for litter pick up bags and the pet station concept, and that numerous observation studies have shown there is no additional waste in rolled bags versus hanging bags, DOGIPOT decided to provide an alternative dispenser and bag design for the consumers who still prefer hanging bags. The new Aluminum DOGIPOT Junior Bag Dispenser will hold DOGIPOT Header Pak Litter Pick Up Bags (i.e., the hanging bags). Consistent with DOGIPOT’s company-wide “green” initiatives, the new dispenser and wicket bags will both contain recycled content.
