McCasland working on Eagle Scout project As his Eagle Scout project, Zack McCasland of Troop 472 in Wheeler, is assisting the Wheeler Emergency Manage- ment Director to locate all storm shelters in and around Wheeler. This project is being undertak- en so that if a tornado or other disaster destroyed buildings in Wheeler, emergency personnel would know where to search for survivors that might be trapped by debris in their storm shelters. Zack will send a short survey to each residence in Wheeler. Once the forms are returned, he will record the address of each shelter as well as its GPS coor- dinates. It is also important to know which houses do not have storm shelters, so we are asking every household to fill out a survey and return it to Zack McCasland at Wheeler High School, or Ben Ed Hillhouse at the Wheeler Veterinary Clinic. If you live outside Wheeler and would like to have your storm shelter included in the survey, please call Ben Ed Hillhouse at (806) 826-5821 or Zack McCasland at (806) 334- 1763. Results of the survey will be provided to the Wheeler Sher- iff’s Department, the Wheeler Fire Department, and ambu- lance services. The information will not be shared with any or- ganization other than emergen- cy responders. La informacion no va a ser compartida con ni- nguna otra organizacion aparte de los servicios de emergencia. know, it was one of those where you are thrown in to the fire with little training, and then you learn mistakes the hard way. It was a great experience though, and I al- ways encourage anyone to go to work where you have lots of con- tact with the public. It’ll change your life. I have to say the crowd I saw that day as a checker was about the same as one I saw at a gro- cery store Saturday afternoon. It was wall to wall people. Just more proof that Super Sunday has become an enormous event to Americans and sports fans across the globe. McCasland working on Eagle Scout project

As his Eagle Scout project, Zack McCasland of Troop 472 in Wheeler, is assisting the Wheeler Emergency Manage-ment Director to locate all storm shelters in and around Wheeler. This project is being undertak-en so that if a tornado or other disaster destroyed buildings in Wheeler, emergency personnel would know where to search for survivors that might be trapped by debris in their storm shelters.

Zack will send a short survey to each residence in Wheeler. Once the forms are returned, he will record the address of each shelter as well as its GPS coor-dinates.

It is also important to know which houses do not have storm shelters, so we are asking every

household to fill out a survey and return it to Zack McCasland at Wheeler High School, or Ben Ed Hillhouse at the Wheeler Veterinary Clinic.

If you live outside Wheeler and would like to have your storm shelter included in the survey, please call Ben Ed Hillhouse at (806) 826-5821 or Zack McCasland at (806) 334-1763.

Results of the survey will be provided to the Wheeler Sher-iff’s Department, the Wheeler Fire Department, and ambu-lance services. The information will not be shared with any or-ganization other than emergen-cy responders.

know, it was one of those where you are thrown in to the fire with little training, and then you learn mistakes the hard way. It was a great experience though, and I al-ways encourage anyone to go to work where you have lots of con-tact with the public. It’ll change your life.

I have to say the crowd I saw that day as a checker was about the same as one I saw at a gro-cery store Saturday afternoon. It was wall to wall people. Just more proof that Super Sunday

has become an enormous event to Americans and sports fans across the globe.
