Born and bread at the original Mbombela township, raised and lived his whole life at kaDantjie trust. Back in the days during Gideon’s childhood, his older brother Mduduzi built tin guitars as a hobby. At the age of 10 Gideon grew an interest in the craftsmanship. Four years down the line he was given a gift and it was an acoustic guitar that had no strings. Gideon rebuilt his acoustic beauty and practised his way in to a local band that was called the “Strugglers” by the age of 16. In 1995, Gideon took a journey to Johannesburg in search of a way display his musical talent. Gideon built his musical reputation as a studio session artist for Maskandi Music projects. Some of his music sessions lead to live stage performances with “Penny Penny” the artist. In the year 2000 Gideon, Nicky, Sophia and JJ Lubisi came together to form the Mbombela Jazz band. Gideon doubled up his talent delivery by playing the keyboard in the live instrumentalist band made up of the Bass guitar, Drums and the Saxophone. In the six solid years of sessions, gigs and the formation of a reputable footprint, members came and went. In 2006 Gideon and a new line up of The Mbombela Jazz Band evolved the vision of the band to become the Triple S Band. It has been over two decades of sessions and experimenting with music. Nomfundo

Nomfundo is a beautiful girl, born and bread in the moral fibre of a God fearing family. She is a girl that has grown too big and proud to live by the rules that hold the walls of her home together however Nomfundo lost both her parents. She is a lost little – big girl who is on her own. Deep inside she feels that she needs a new way. Nomfundo needs guidance, needs to be given insight because Nomfundo is running out of time.

Is’koloto

True South African township story told through the sounds of the saxophone, bass guitar, lead guitar, key board and the drum. Is’koloto is a debt that one owes. In the true South African township back drop, Is’koloto manifests drama in the sense of social unrest between the two or more parties involved. The drama unfolds as the story is told in the Triple S Band rhythm.

Take a long way home

It is true. Indlela ibut’wa kulabayihambile. Lwati lembuso does not come from a day’s work. These are the elements that unify the combination of the Triple S Band story telling African rhythm approach. Take a long way home is a musical interpretation of the well known African say that states “easy come easy go” and we are saying that you should take time to know her

Remember

Remember when you made a promise to yourself that you will fulfil your dreams and desires to reach that one specific goal. We all set goals for our selves, at that moment when you make a covenant with your heart, body and soul, we believe that energy moves and shift’s within you. This song was composed to re awaken and spark that energy and direction within you so that you could remember to follow your dreams.

Walk by my side

A Man needs a woman and a woman needs a man. In between you find all the man made obstacles such as ego, pride, prejudice, jealousy and envy. We started by writing that every man needs woman and every woman needs a man that will walk by her side, whether the way is clear or unclear, loyalty between the two of you should always be renewed by telling each other that you will always walk by each other’s sides whether the road ahead is clear or unclear.

Come to me

Come to me, Baby Come Duze because you know that you want to. This is a lover’s song that allows partners to play the courting game. Gone are the days when women were treated like queens and the presence of a woman was praised by man around her because she was the object of a man’s desires.

Time is moving

When you are on the move, on a pace, I know you perceive yourself as one of the movers and shifters of destinies being lived. Upbeat, medium pace, mellow with the saxophone, sunny keys on the keyboard, rhythmic base and light drum hats. This song picks your spirit up and at the very same time makes you wish you were sipping an umbrella pineapple cock tail on a white sandy beach. Reality forms a part of the nature of the song as it also reminds us that time wasted is a step back from your umbrella pineapple cocktail on a white sandy beach holiday.
