The New Lectio Divina (Divine Reading) for 2019,
Beginning on the First Sunday In Advent
Today, we begin a new Lectio Divina designed to help all members of Holy Trinity Church read through the major portions of the Bible in chronological order. Though the Bible has 73 books, the main story of Biblical history is told in just 14 of those books. If we learn those 14 books, we will know the main scope of the Scriptures. Join us as we learn the story of Salvation from Scripture.

Tues Genesis 4-11; Psalms 19
Wed Genesis 12-17; Psalms 8
Thu Genesis 18-25; Psalms 50

Trinity Times Weekly Edition The First Sunday in Advent
Week of December 2nd, 2018
Holy Trinity Anglican Church & Lindisfarne Hall
Fernandina Beach, Florida
Happy New Year in Christ Jesus! Today marks the beginning of a new year in the Church calendar. To celebrate,
creche to the altar. Fr. Cunningham also has a new liturgical calendar for each
family. Be sure to pick yours up after the service (1 per family, please.)
The Christmas Creche on the Altar During Advent, the altar flowers are replaced with the Christmas creche. On
the First Sunday in Advent the scene is empty, with only the animals and the
shepherd present in the stable. Each week, the scene will grow as Mary and
Joseph find their way to Bethlehem. On Christmas Eve the baby Jesus will
appear in the manger. The creche will not be complete until the Sunday of
Epiphany when the three wise men arrive from afar. Look around the chapel
to track the wise men on their long journey to the manger.
Birthday and Anniversary Blessings Anyone wishing to receive a prayer and blessing will be invited to come forward. Participation is not compulsory, but all, including visitors are welcome.
Christmas Pageant Participants and Volunteers… Contact Mary Kay Young at 904-583-0349 or [email protected] for additional information.

Weekly Edition Extra!
Building on the success of our Thanksgiving Mountain
of Food, the students of Lindisfarne Hall are building a
“Mountain of Blankets and Socks” to help keep children
warm. This drive was created after learning from Hope
House that there is a great need for these two items
among the poor and the homeless. Examples of the
kinds of items needed are placed next to the Altar rail in
the chapel. All parishioners, students and their families
are invited to help meet this need to bless the poorest of
our community with blankets and warm socks for
children. THANK YOU!
NEEDED: Baby Blankets and Warm Socks

United States. Please plan to attend this extremely
important service of prayer and worship for all
victims of abortion.
Planning Ahead: Holiday Schedule: November and December at Holy Trinity Anglican Church
Thank you for helping Lindisfarne Hall students build “A Mountain of Thanksgiving Food” for charity
Fr. Peter Joslyn, who recently accepted the call to
become our second Curate, will be preaching at both
Masses on the First Sunday in Advent. Fr. Peter and his
family are in town looking for housing in preparation
for their relocation to Holy Trinity Church. Please keep
the Joslyn family in your prayers and let us know if you
have insight into great deals for them as they join us
after the new year.
Welcome Fr. Peter, Erin and baby Bella Joslyn Students from House Falclere lead the effort
The students of Lindisfarne Hall extend their gratitude to the
parishioners at Holy Trinity for their generosity in helping
the them build a “Mountain of Food”. The students who
organized the drive along with their Head of House Falclere
Professor Kate Dinkins delivered the food to Hope House in
time for families and the homeless to have plenty of supplies
for the Thanksgiving holiday. Many people were blessed by
this effort. The staff at Hope House were so grateful they all
came out to see the mountain, meet our students and take a
few photos of their own.
A Great Thanksgiving Feast points ahead to a Fantastic Christmas Eve!
This year’s parish Thanksgiving Feast was a
great success, with almost 50 people sharing
Morning Prayer followed by a feast with a
fantastic menu. With that holiday behind us,
its time to look forward to the Christmas
celebrations. Each year at Holy Trinity we have
three major celebrations which each provide us
with the opportunity to fellowship with one
another and to invite friends and acquaintances
to experience our beloved parish: Christmas
Eve, the Parish Feast Day on Trinity Sunday, and
the Thanksgiving Feast. Christmas, the first
great opportunity for outreach, is rapidly approaching. Please plan to attend a Christmas Eve Mass and also to invite a
friend to join you. I’m praying God grants us the greatest opportunity ever to reach others with the good news of the
Incarnation of Jesus Christ and to introduce them to the most loving and most living congregation on the Island.
