G.S.R. 708(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of suh-section (2) of section 156 of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force Act, 1992 (35 of 1992), the Central Government hereby makes the following rulesregulating the method of recruitment to the posts of Para Medical Cadre, Group 'B' posts of the Indo~Tibetan BorderPolice Force, namely:~

1. Short title and commencement.-(l) These rules may be called the Indo-Tibet;lp Border Police Force, ParaMedical Cadre (Group 'B' Posts) Recruitment Rules. 2016.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

Disqualification.-No person,-5.

2. Application.- These rules shall apply to the posts specified in column (I) of the Schedule annexed to these rules.

3. Number of posts, classification, pay band and grade pay or"pay scale.-The number of said pm1s•.their~ ."classification and the pay band and grade payor pay scale attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) ofthe Schedule annexed to these rules. .>.~

4. I\lethod of recruitment, age limit, other qualifications, etc.-The method of recnulIhHlt,"' age-' iimiti.:' ~;:i':'.:~•..qualifications and other matters relating thereto shall be as specified in columns (5) to (13) of the aforesal(rScMt!duI(!;,.i-'.;~!}.';:'!'>'~':.'"-::':'

(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living, or

(b) who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,

shall be eligible for appointment to the said post:

Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personallaw applicabl~ t~_such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exemptany person from the opera-tionof this rule. .

6. _ I\ledic~T. Fitrie~.>:Not;.yithstanding' ariyihin"gcdn'tained .in these rules, only those persons who are in medicalcategory SHApE'I, as sp'ecifiea in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, Medical Manual Volume-Ill, shall be eligiblefor appointment and promotion including appointment by deputation or re-employment under the provisions of theserules.

7.. Ineligioflity of -non citizens of India.-No person who is. nOl a citizen of India shall, except with the priorpermission of the:Central Government in writing, be appointed under these rules:

Provided that nothipg contained in this rule shall debar the appointment or employment of a subject of Nepal orBhutan in the Force_

8. _Superannuation.-(l) Every person appointed under these rules shall retire from service on the afternoon of thelast day of month in which he or she attains the age of fifty-seven years or as prescribed by the Central Government fromtime to time: "-: .~.•.

Provided that the person whose date or'birth isthe first day of a month shall retire from service on the afternoonof the last day of the preceding month on attaining the age of superannuation.

(2) No person shall be granted extension in service beyond the prescribed age of retirement on superannuation.9. Power to reIax.-Where the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, itmay, by order and .for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to anyclass or category of persons .

10. Saving.-Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required tobe provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, ex.servicemen and other specialcategories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time in this regard.
