Therapeutic Recreation Section is excited to
welcome our new TR Intern Marquita and our

Performing Arts Club
For ages 13 and up with disabilities

Do you like to sing, dance, act, or entertain a
crowd? The spotlight is calling you. In the TR
Performing Arts Club, participants will increase
their awareness and involvement in various
acting and performance skills. No prior skills are
required.
School’s Out Club for Youth
for youth, ages 6-12, with disabilities

$35.00
During this school day out, children will play
games, make crafts, and engage in physical
activities! All of these activities are used to
promote peer interaction and appropriate social
skills, physical activity, and independence.
Carowinds Day Trip
for teens, ages 13-21, with disabilities
*Meet at Carowinds

October 18, 2014 (Saturday)
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$25.00
Join us at Carowinds for an afternoon of fun! Participants
must be independent in restroom and self-care, be able to
maintain group pace, be independently mobile
(ambulatory or wheelchair), and have the ability to
transfer without assistance. You may bring extra money
for concession.
Bumper Bowlers
for ages 3-12 with disabilities
DATES TBA
Come to Ten Park Lanes to enjoy a game of bowling and
socializing with friends! Program fee covers 6 weeks of
bowling and shoe rentals. Parents are encouraged to stay
and watch their children.

Spill Your Beans
for young women with disabilities ages 16 and up

$10.00 per meeting (does not include the cost of
snacks)
Welcome to a super-charged ladies night! Spill
Your Beans provides the opportunity for young
women to talk about and gain support for issues
they’re facing in their lives, such as health &
safety, independent living, relationships,
friendships, and self-esteem (participants will
have the opportunity to choose the topics to learn
about). Each month we will host a guest speaker
or lead a discussion about issues that are
important to you.
Monster Mash for teens and adults, ages 13 and up with disabilities.

Attention boys and ghouls…It’s Monster Mash time!
Grab your costumes and your dancing shoes and join us
on Friday, October 24 for a night full of fun and frights!
The event is from 6-9 p.m. and dinner is included in the
$10 registration fee.

For teens, ages 13-21, with disabilities, still enrolled in
high school

Paralympic Boccia
For teens and adults, age 13 and older, with a
physical disability, cerebral palsy, spinal cord
injury, or stroke.

Test your strategy. The object of boccia is to
throw/roll a game ball closest to the target ball.
This program is part of Paralympic Sport
Paralympic Gateway to Gold Event
For ages 8 and up with a physical or visual
disability

November 7-9 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
FREE
Join USOC Paralympic coaches and athletes for a
multi-sport, multi-day event. Featured sport
clinics include track and field, cycling, swimming
and will conclude with a paratriathlon.
VIP Travel Club
For adults and seniors, ages 35 and up, with a
visual impairment

wagon ride, apple cider and pumpkin-picking

Drop-off: MAB @ 3:30 p.m., MDRC @ 4:00 p.m.
$15.00 each date
Enjoy a FUN social day with friends, while
building independence in the community. Learn
about historical, educational and recreational
attractions in the Charlotte area. Please bring
money for lunch.
