Top 100 Music Videos and CD Covers Of All TimeJoe Leah

Michael JacksonWithin the Top 100 music videos list, there are many artists that has been around for decades and are mostly classics. First of all who rocks in at the 100 mark is Michael Jackson with Billy Jean. This video is so popular for many reasons, and one of the reasonsbeing the video. One of the reasons why this video could be classed as one of the best is of one of the main features of the video. This is when Jackson walksover certain squares and they light up when we walks on them. Although I haven’t found any of his album onAny top 100 lists, I believe his artwork is original and creative.

Nicki MinajNicki Minaj appears on the list of top 100 music with the video it ‘Starships’. The success of the video might relate to the fact the song was so successful and was actually Minaj’s highest selling single in the UK charts. The video could link toThe Male Gaz Theory as she could be seen as being provocative, for example the revel of aside boob shot and wearing a bikini that shows off her famous rear.

Lily AllenLily Allen’s Alfie video is an example of a creative, well thought out and different video. The song and video relate very well together by showing her brother, who is a puppet, being lazy and unemployed. This video is a great example of how popular a video can be without the song itself not selling too well. The song didn’t even make it into the top 20 UK charts when it was released, but the video still remains as rememberable today because being different and funny. The video also helps the song explain itself in a very simple, but effective way.

Lil WyaneThe album cover to Lil Wyane’s 2008 album ‘Tha Carter 3’ has been considered as a highly rated album artwork. The cover appears to have a tolder which is dressed and presented of how Lil Wyane presents himself. This is done by wearing a suit, large circular ring and facial tattoos. Some of the tattoo’s, such as the tear droplets, represent serving time in prison which obivously the tolder didn’t do. Some might say that this idea of a album cover is unexcitable but Lil Wyane has been creative when designing this cover. Instead of a cliché picture of himself, he was taken all of the characteristics of him and placed them onto a character which would never been seen in this light. It also adds a sense of humour as the child is looking very seriously and is actually fitting the role of Lil Wyane quite well.

David Bowie

David Bowie’s Aladdin Sane album is on the top 100 list of CD album covers. This could be because the artwork is at a very simple level but effective with all the detail put into the make-up on his face. Bowie isn’t smiling on the artwork which gives more attention to the lightening strike on his face, which he was well known for in his early day. A possible reason why this album cover was within the top 100 is because the artwork really represents what he is like as a artist and is effectively simple.
