1847 born on February 11th in Milan, Ohio.

7th and last child. Parents were Samuel Edison

Jr. & Nancy Elliot Edison. 1854 moved to port Huron,

Mich. He began selling newspapers

when he was twelve years old.

He was known as Alva until his 2nd marriage.
