There are many dynamics that led Tersan family to draw its roadmap through the motto of “ We traditionally build precious ships”.

It is not as simple as it sounds: ‘ It is very difficult to build a ship, make it worthy, keep this value as a tradition and improve it. First of all, in order to recognize the value of thousands of people’s labor we need to provide the permanence of it in a healthy and safety manner.

TERSAN aims to prevent the accidents and occupational diseases and minimize them with the risk assessment studies, HSE trainings given to employees, workplace controls, work permit system and employees’ periodi-cally health checks. In addition, having ISO 45001 certificate is an important indication that its approach and system comply with international standards.

Tersan gives training to all employees; before their start at work, least 16 hours annually, after accidents and after near miss accidents.

it has a strong team consisting of occupational physi-

Occupational safety measures are successfully carried out in different types and sizes of new building projects. New building department safety team employs more than 60 personnels which include HSE en-gineers, HSE supervisor and HSE staff.

Ship RepairDepartment SafetyOccupational safety measures are successfully carried out in different types and sizes of ships that arrive for repair. Repair department safety team employs more than 50 personnels which include HSE engineers, HSE supervisor and HSE staff.


INFIRMARY TEAM

Infirmary team employs more than 10 personnel which include occupational physician, nurse / paramedic. In the infirmary, job entry, work accident return examinations and work accident interventions are carried out.


ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENTDue to the operations in TERSAN, the manage-ment of the wastewater, control of emissions, environmental noise and sea water quality are considered as the main environmental appli-cations. ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT

TERSAN, thanks to its waste manage-ment, system sends only 2% of waste to the regular storage while 98% of the waste is sent to recycling. TERSAN has obtained licences from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization for all waste management applications.

TERSAN follows the emissions releases and noise levels that occur due to its activities via annual measurements. In addition, Tersan also observes the ef-fects to the sea water quality due to its activities. Seawater quality is being fol-lowed by annual analysis.


ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENTTERSAN, whose compliance of all environ-mental activities with the national rules is con-firmed by the environmental permit granted by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanism, proves that it also complies with the interna-tional standards by having ISO 14001 certifi-cate.

ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENTIn addition, necessary studies are being carried out on the total environmental impact studies evaluated together with all environmental impacts and monitoring climate change effects. Through these studies, all environmental parameters are followed in order to observe possible changes.
