Being W.E.L.L.
A Note from Johnny… Welcome, Ryan Shipp to the ministry staff of First Baptist Church! He will begin his ministry here on February 5.I ask that you pray for Ryan and his family as they make this transition. As you are praying, please pray for his previous church as they search for the will of God concerning his replacement.
Let me give a big “Thank You” to the Music committee. They have worked over the past several months seeking the will of the Lord in filling the music position. Also, to the Fellowship Committee for their work in serving at the reception breakfast last Sunday.
In just a couple of weeks we will have the first of two Winter Wellness Sundays. The first Winter Wellness Sunday will have Glenn Sheppard as special guest. Glenn is a man with the heart of revival. He has seen and been a part of revival around the world. He will be teaching in both the Morning and Evening Services on the themes of walking with God and personal revival. You will want to be here for this great day of teaching.
Let me share with you some incredible news! Our nation over the past several years has experienced a down turn in the economy. This has effected everyone, even churches. I want to share with you what the Lord God says in Malachi, that if His people obey Him with their finances, they can live under the canopy of His provision. This past church year the principle of stewardship has been proven. We, as a church, finished the year being $52,000.00 over our budget. This allowed us to have an overage of over $200,000.00 for the year. By the recommendation of the Budget committee, we are able to take half of this amount and place it in the First Baptist Church Mission Fund. Adding to this amount half of the 2010 overage, we are able to place a total of $183,000.00 to the FBC Mission Fund. This money will be used to help send our members on missions and to buy the needed supplies to help reach a lost world. Isn’t this exciting! Let me add one more mission giving area of our church…that is to the Cooperative Program. Through your giving we were able to give $213,775.13! Do you think this church believes in mission giving and going? I thank you, First Baptist members, for your faithfulness through yourgiving and other areas of ministry. Let’s keep on obeying our Lord, for indoing so we will see great things done.
Have a great day!
Bro. Johnny

Sunday Bible Study-Every week we will feature one of our Sunday Bible Study Groups.
The Anne Spivey Group… We are a group of folks co-ed, 17–80, who really care about each other. A characteristic of ours is loyalty. We have an interest, or better, a yearning to know what the Bible really says about us and about the Lord. Our study format is lecture/discussion with a tendency to lean a little more on the lecture side. We study from the Bible, with several translations being used: NIV, Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic. We meet in room C216.
