President’s Message

Dear Fellow Trapshooters,

I would like to welcome you to the VTA shoots for 2017.

This year’s Hall of Fame shoot will be held in conjunction with the AIM state championship, we look forward to having these fine young competitors shooting with us this year.

On Thursday after the conclusion of Event 5, we will have the Virginia Trap-shooting Association Side by Side Championship - 50 non-registered 16 yard targets. All ATA rules will apply except all targets must be shot with a side by side shotgun (12 gauge or smaller). We will award trophies for the first, second and third place scores; ties will be shot off until a winner is determined. Get those Parkers, LC Smiths and Model 21s out of the safe and have some fun.

I encourage all of you to support your local ATA clubs; they are the back-bone of our sport and a great place to introduce your friends to ATA shooting.

I’m pleased to announce the induction of Andrea Smith into the Virginia Trapshooting Hall of Fame. I have known and competed with Andrea for many years and she will make a fine addition to the Hall of Fame.

I would like to recognize the 2017 VTA Board of Directors for all of their hard work in promoting and supporting trapshooting in Virginia. Without their continued efforts and those of many others at your local clubs, we could not continue to grow and provide the sport and fellowship we all enjoy.

Good shooting to all,Mike JeterPresident, Virginia Trapshooting Association
