The Punic Wars

The Romans faced a strong power in the Mediterranean, Carthage. Carthage was founded by the Phoenicians. The Carthaginians occupied Sicily, an island close to the Italian coast. The two powers will begin a long struggle for dominance in the Mediterranean.
