Adam McWilliam New arrival the former Montrose player has plenty of skill and quality. Will be looking to add goals from midfield to the team.
Jack Masterton The skipper and our silky skilled lefty who’s also entering his 3rd season. Jack can play anywhere, but don’t ask him to head the ball.
Craig Feeney Known affectionately as ‘Mr Totton’ or ‘Goals’. Feens is a regular goal-scorer at this level. He uses his pace and strength very well, scored some cracking goals in a Stags shirt.
Silvano Obeng Arrived from Team Solent after 3 very good seasons. Silv brings good physicality and work-rate to the side, as well and being a cool finisher.

James Matthews James broke into the squad last season while playing for our U18’s. He’ll dual sign with neighbours Totton & Eling as we progress him further.
Will Archer The young defender arrived from college football and the well run programme at Sparsholt. His first season in senior football and Will is expected to do very well.
RECENT HISTORY
2013/14 Back in the Wessex League Premier Division saw the club playing
lots of old local rivals and the first team got off to a storming start to the
season and it wasn't to be until February when we were first
efeated. However, due to terrible weather & cup commitments, the club
barely played in January & February, meaning a huge backlog of fixtures in
the final weeks of the season. Despite having to play 20 games in 30 days,
including NINE successive away games, Sholing won the League with 104
points and a goal difference of +105.
The Reserves made it a hat-trick of Wyvern League titles in the most thrilling
way, scoring a goal in injury time in the last game of the season, to deny
Portchester the title. They also won the Southampton Senior Cup at St
Mary's.
Of course, the FA Vase win will be what most people will remember from this
season, the greatest honour in the club's history. Back in October as we
faced Winchester in the 1st round, no one was dreaming of Wembley, but as
the rounds were ticked off, we started to get the feeling that this would be our
year. So on the 10th May 2014 at the home of football, Wembley Stadium,
backed by over 3,000 fans, Marvin Mclean scored the only goal and Byron
Mason & Dave Diaper lifted the Vase. In a whirlwind of activity that followed,
the team paraded the FA Vase in front of the Southampton FC fans at St
Mary's, were given an official reception by the Mayor of Southampton and
appeared on both local TV stations.
After 15 years in charge of the first team, Dave Diaper handed over the reins
to Dave Fear & Mick Marsh, in order to concentrate on the Ground
redevelopment (for which the club has kindly received backing and grants
from Sport England & the FA to build a new clubhouse and 3G pitch). We also
said a fond goodbye to players Marc Diaper, Tyronne Bowers & Lee Bright,
who all decided to "retire at the top" after Wembley.
2014/15 Club was granted promotion back into the Southern League South &
West division. After 21 matches in charge Mick Marsh & Dave Fear stepped
down from their managerial role leaving Chairman Dave Diaper to step back
into the fray alongside Stuart Hussey. Sholing finished in 17th position having
been in that position for 32 weeks. Sholing reached the semi-final Russell-
Cotes cup and the final of the Hampshire Senior Cup losing out 3-0 to
Gosport Borough at Fratton Park. Ground grading issues saw Sholing
relegated back to the Wessex League.
The Reserves much like the 1st team had a change of management part way
through the season with Martin Tongs stepping up from U18’s to take charge.
The Wyvern title eluded them this season losing out to AFC Portchester and
had to settle for runners up and the two cup competitions saw them runners
up again to Petersfield Town in the League Cup but were successful in the
John Stimpson Memorial Shield beating AFC Totton.
2015/16 Following a ground grading issue Sholing returned back to the Sydenhams Wessex League. Sholing welcomed Darren
Burdle into the coaching staff. A remarkable season for Sholing as ten players from within the under 18 ranks made their first
team appearances something that has never happened before. Cup disappointments meant the season was all about the League
and Sholing finished the season Runners Up to Salisbury losing one home League game which was our first game against
Moneyfields the only team to do the League double over us. Dan Mason was pipped by former Sholing striker Sam Wilson on the
final day of the season to deny Dan being the League’s leading scorer.
2016/17: Behind the scenes saw another change in management within the Development side with Iain Calder Steve Ross &
Steve Blackburn taking over the reins. Finishing 4th in the League and reaching S/F of JSMS & ¼ Final of SDFA Sen Cup.
Sholing FC were rocked in Dec 16 with the sudden death of Coach Darren Burdle aged 50. Sholing FC finished season 3rd with
Dan Mason again being the leading marksman. Sholing completed a cup double winning the Sydenhams Wessex League Cup
then 52 hrs later lifted the SDFA Senior Cup for the 9th time at St Mary’s.
2017/18: The season like last season saw changes in management with Development manager Iain Calder stepping up to 1st
team coach. Steve Blackburn & Curtis Osbourne along with Steve Ross took on the Development role and took the U18’s to the
1st Round of the FA Youth Cup. Steve & Curtis left the club midseason with Patrick McGonigle and Steve Terry doubling up their
roles with U18’S and Development with Steve Ross. The 1st team finished third in the Sydenhams Wessex League and failed to
defend both trophies losing out in the semi-finals in both competitions. The Development side finished mid-table with many U18’s
stepping up to the Development side. The U18’s won the HCY League Cup and a number of the U18’S featured in 1st team
games.
2018/19: Sholing won the Sydenhams Wessex League title with 8 games remaining of the season & promotion back to Bet Victor
Southern League South a winning double was achieved beating Christchurch to win the Russell-Cotes Cup for the 1st time in their
history. The Reserves finished runners-up in The Wyvern Combination

On a bitterly cold evening in blustery conditions on the 3G pitch at Cirencester, manager Louis Langdown made 2 changes to his side as Totton faced their second away game in the space of 4 days. Dave Allen & Ollie Bradley came in for Jack Smith, who dropped to the bench & Adam McWilliam.
Totton had an early chance when Ollie Bradley broke down the left & crossed from the byline. The ball was headed away & Craig Feeney shot wide from the edge of the box.
There was a nervous moment after 12 minutes when Totton keeper Matt Hall had the ball at his feet & was being closed down by striker Levi Irving. He calmly took the ball around the oncoming striker & cleared upfield. Cirencester went close moments later when an attack down the right ended with the ball being cut back to Levi Irving, who shot wide of the goal from 12 yards.
After 14 minutes a strong challenge from Matt Bozier saw the Totton fullback shown a yellow card. The resulting free kick played into the Totton box was only cleared to Levi Irving & his shot from the edge of the box hit the post.
After 17 minutes Patrick Nolan’s header picked out Alex Haynes halfway inside the Cirencester half. He cleverly flicked the ball through to Craig Feeney, who under pressure shot just wide of the goal from inside the box.
With 20 minutes gone, Cirencester were awarded a free kick on the left side of the box when Mitchell Byrne was harshly adjudged to have pushed his man. From the resulting free kick, Tommy Ouldridge crossed the ball into the box & Levi Irving ran in to volley home from 12 yards out.
Totton responded well & equalised after 24 minutes when Callum Chugg burst down the right & played the ball over the top of the full back for Craig Feeney to run on to. As he took the ball into the right hand side of the box & under pressure from a defender, he knocked the ball past the keeper to make it 1-1.
Cirencester responded well & it took some determined defending from Callum Chugg on 31 minutes to win a goal kick for Totton. Moments later Matt Hall did well to claim the ball at the far post, following a deep free kick into the box.
With 35 minutes gone Totton went close when a Callum Chugg tackle won the ball in the centre circle. Patrick Nolan took the ball forward then threaded his pass through to Craig Feeney whose shot from 20 yards was saved by the keeper.
After 38 minutes, Cirencester almost regained the lead when a shot inside the box was blocked by Patrick Nolan, then the rebound was cleared off the line by Matt Bozier & put behind for a corner.
A good move from Totton just before half time saw Robin Nicholls find Alex Haynes just inside the Cirencester half. His pass to Silvano Obeng led to Craig Feeney seeing his shot blocked from just outside the box.

Half Time: Cirencester Town 1-1 AFC Totton
Cirencester started the second half strong. An early attack saw Levi Irving get to the by-line & pull the ball back across goal, but captain Dave Allen was on hand to clear the danger.
The home side continued to threaten & went close after 50 minutes. Jordan Morris cut inside from the right & his low shot was saved by Matt Hall, with John Dennis putting the rebound wide.
The pressure from the home side continued & paid off when on 53 minutes they were awarded a free kick on the left edge of the Totton box, with defender Mitchell Byrne receiving a yellow card. John Dennis stepped up & fired the ball into the top left hand corner of the goal to make it 2-1.
Cirencester continued to attack the Totton goal & it took a double save on 56 minutes from Matt Hall to keep the home side at bay. After 58 minutes, Totton made their first substitution of the evening when Silvano Obeng was replaced by Liam Callaghan. With 60 minutes gone, Totton were forced to make their second substitution of the evening when Matt Bozier was replaced by Jack Masterton.
On 62 minutes Totton squandered a great opportunity to equalise. A long ball forward, bounced over the keeper who had run out of his box in attempting to clear the ball. Craig Feeney chased the loose ball but with the goal at his mercy, his shot struck the post & went behind for a goal kick.
With 12 minutes remaining Totton made their final substitution of the game when Alex Haynes was replaced by Liam Farrugia. On 79 mins Patrick Nolan battled to win the ball outside the penalty area. His pass inside was blocked & put behind for a Totton corner. The resulting corner from Jack Masterton found Dave Allen, but his goal bound header was cleared away.
After 82 minutes, Jack Masterton won the ball on the halfway line & released Ollie Bradley down the left. He raced forward but was challenged near the by-line & the ball went behind for a corner.
Ollie Bradley was then booked on 85 minutes for a foul tackle. With 4 minutes remaining, Totton had a good shout for a penalty when Patrick Nolan was clattered to the ground as the ball was put behind for a corner.
With 2 minutes to go a Cirencester attack saw a John Dennis shot blocked by Mitchell Byrne & the ball looped behind for a corner. Jack Freeman saw his resulting kick held well by Matt Hall as he claimed the ball under the bar.
The referee signalled 6 minutes of additional time to be played. Cirencester had a free kick by the corner flag. With the ball played inside the penalty area by Jack Freeman, Dave Allen was on hand to clear the danger.
After 92 minutes, Callum Chugg was booked when he challenged for a header inside the Cirencester penalty area. Moments later Mitchell Byrne made a great tackle inside the box as Toumani Sidibie was about to shoot.
After 94 minutes Totton were awarded a corner & the ball was cleared to Patrick Nolan, but his shot from 20 yards was blocked with the ball safely going through to the keeper.

AFC Totton’,s Christmas programme got off to the worst possible start after they were smashed 5-2 at Slimbridge’s Thornhill Park this afternoon, despite leading 2-1 at one stage.
The Stags made three changes to the side that lost 2-1 at Cirencester last time out Matt Bozier was injured,
whilst Adam McWilliam was unavailable and Dave Allen dropped to the bench. In came Liam Farrugia, Jack Smith and Jack Masterton. The bench consisted of Ollie Bradley, Richard Bakery, Liam Callaghan and of course Allen
Unfortunately, it was another afternoon of poor defending that contributed to this loss.
The Stags got off to a dreadful start conceding the opening goal after just 3 minutes when Solomon Wanjau-Smith swept the Swans ahead.
Totton reacted well to that early setback because after 10 minutes they forced a corner on the right. Jack Masterton swung it into the box where
it was cleared as far as Pip Nolan, who latched onto the clearance before he fired home with the help of a deflection.
Totton were galvanised by that goal as they proceeded to knock the ball around confidently at times.
On 17 minutes the Stags were in front when top scorer Craig Feeney picked up Alex Haynes pass on the right of the area before he rifled home into the bottom left hand corner, it was an emphatic finish from the Stags top scorer.
A short while later Feeney saw another effort go wide as the Stags seemed to grow in confidence.
Totton had a bit of luck when Dion Chambers played in Wanjau-Smith whose 1st touch let him down as the ball rolled harmlessly to a relieved Stags keeper Matt Hall.
Totton retaliated with a chance for Alex Haynes that went wide in the 22nd minute. The game was really entertaining with both sides looking capable going forward.
There was a couple of chances for Slimbridge’s Ryan Beckinsdale who fired wide with his first 1st effort, and he fired over with the 2nd.

5-2 Afc totton
Totton had a half chance when Feeney dinked a ball in for Jack Masterton only for Swans keeper Lewis Adams to get to it just ahead of the Stags midfielder.
Slimbridge’s Danny King had a couple of efforts a minute apart, the 1st was saved by Hall, whilst the 2nd was well off target.
Totton were close to increasing their lead when a long throw from Nolan on the left found the head of Silvano Obeng and keeper Adams had to make a save to deny him.
The hosts were almost level a minute before the break when Wanjau-Smith came in unnoticed at the back post with an effort that was well stopped by Hall at point blank range.
The Stags were still ahead as we entered added time at the end of the half and in the 2nd minute of that added time the Stags conceded a free kick 20 yards out to the right of the ‘D’. It was floated to the back post where William Peck came in to head the Swans
level. From a defensive point of view, it was disappointing as Peck appeared to arrive without anybody picking up his run.
Half time: Slimbridge 2 AFC Totton 2
Slimbridge certainly came out looking very menacing early in the 2nd half with Wanjau-
Smith shooting straight at Hall and King firing over after a simple ball over the top, King will feel he should have done better with that opportunity.
Totton had a chance when a move ended with Obeng flicking a ball on to Feeney inside the box, but on this occasion, Feeney put the ball over the crossbar.
Chambers then sent a wayward shot in on goal that was well wide, but a moment later the Swans were in front when Callum Chugg got under a long ball and his header dropped close to him, this allowed Myron Turner to steel the ball and from that point he proceeded to fire past Hall, once again it was a poor goal defensively.
If that was not bad enough just 4 minutes later, it was 4-2 to the swans when Matt Hall could only parry a shot to substitute Jamie Martin who was quickest to the rebound and he made no mistake. Once again you do have to question why Totton were so slow to react.
It went from bad to worse for the Stags because on 75 minutes a basic ball down the middle saw Adam Price beat the Totton defenders to the ball and he swept home a
5th goal for the hosts.
In the dying moments Slimbridge keeper Adams had to make a double save from Craig
Feeney for what would have been a mere consolation for the Stags.
