The Merrimack Valley Food Bank is a community supported nonprofit organization, and seeks an experienced team member to continue our success in preparing and submitting grant and donation proposals to funders who share our mission to provide adequate nutrition and freedom from hunger. Grant Writer, Part time: 25 hours Prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to foundations & corporate donors for all MVFB programs, and comply with grant reporting required by certain foundations & corporations o Food Distribution o Mobile Pantry o Operation Nourish o Food Rescue o Community Market o Summer Lunch o Capital/Building needs Research potential donors to expand our grantor database Prepare and mail acknowledgement letters to grantors and large donors Maintain statistics on relevant programs and populations served to include in grant proposals Maintain organizational accomplishments as needed to create yearend report and to be included in MVFB’s Annual Report as well as in grant proposals and reports Track previous funds received and time allowed between applications Prepare and manage grant schedule based on foundation deadlines and eligibility Answer phones when needed, make copies, mail grants & letters Assist with MVFB fundraisers Represent MVFB at community events and meetings including Chambers of Commerce, Rotary, and other groups Participate in weekend and evening community events that benefit the programs of MVFB as needed, and if available

Requirements:Bachelor’s DegreeExperience with writing proposals, either in a nonprofit or corporate settingAbility to research using internet programsProficiency in all Microsoft Office products, office equipment and ability to troubleshoot with all of the tools provided by the organization
