Dear Members and Friends:
During the month of October we will be “Giving It All to God” in our worship
services. On Sunday, October 4th
, World Communion Sunday, we will look at giving it
all to God during times of illness. Illness comes from Satan, who desires us to suffer
and turn from God. Trust in God during your illness and He will see you through.
Sunday, October 11th
, we will look at giving it all to God during times of depression.
When we are depressed, it seems like everyone, including God, has forsaken us. We
may have an unhealthy opinion of ourselves. But God has not forsaken us. He hears
our plea for help and we praise Him for doing so.
Giving it all to God through music is our theme for Sunday, October 18th
, which is
Laity Sunday and Children’s Sabbath. The Children’s Choir will sing and we will also
have Jerry Jones in concert while I am away on vacation.
Jack Wyrick will be giving it all to God on Sunday, October 25th
, while I am on
vacation.
Please join us as we celebrate giving it all to God.
Prayerfully yours,
Pastor Harold

THANK YOU to all who helped with the Friendship Picnic held on September 11, 2015. Attendance was
excellent from the Quarry Hill Road group home, the day program in Shippensburg and several local residents
and their families. Music, fellowship and dinner were enjoyed by all and plans are being made for the Christmas
Party in December. This is a joint effort between the Jacksonville Lions Club and the Trinity United Methodist
Women. At Christmas we like to give small gift certificates to our guests as part of the holiday festivities. If
anyone in the congregation would like to donate toward the gift cards, please give your donation to Glorianne
Hilsinger or Marylue Durff. Your help is greatly appreciated by this largely underserved population.
UMW BLANKET DRIVE 2015…now through the end of October Trinity’s UMW will be collecting money to provide blankets to 3rd
world countries. These blankets are used not only for warmth, but also as tents, ground covers and room dividers. Five dollars buys
one blanket but any donation is welcome and will be combined with others for maximum impact. Contributions to this worthy cause may be given to any UMW member or left in the container in
the vestibule. Thank you all for your support!
TRINITY UM Women’s craft show committee is looking for gently used holiday craft and décor items to be sold during Trinity’s Craft
Show in November. If you have items packed away that have not been used recently, feel free to donate them to the UMW who will turn them into cash! All the money raised and collected by the UMW every year is
donated to women’s/children’s charities and other programs supporting local underserved populations. Additionally, the TUMW
has a Ladies Boutique section at the craft fair comprised of quality, gently used, ladies
accessories such as purses, wallets, belts, dress shoes, scarves and jewelry. Most of us have items stashed away that we really like but no longer use. Members of TUMW will be
glad to take them and turn them into cash for good causes! Don’t forget your stylish friends with lots of beautiful accessories who may also be willing to make a donation to our cause! Items may be given to Kathy Engel or Marylue Durff any time. Thank you for your
donations to this project!
TRINITY FELLOWSHIP…
The next Fellowship Dinner will be held on Thursday, October 22nd @ 12 p.m. at the Walnut Bottom Diner in Carlisle. Everyone
is invited to join the group for fun and fellowship. The sign-up sheet is on the table in the hallway of the church.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Update on Rebuilding
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you to each of you who has been so helpful over the past seven months! We greatly appreciate all the prayers and the many forms of assistance you have given since the Friday, February 13 fire that destroyed our home. Those first weeks were a blur of many helpers who pitched in to assist with the salvage and clean-up, to those who prepared and delivered meals, and to the many who donated clothing, furniture, kitchen furnishings, gift cards, and more. Much progress has been made from the initial groundbreaking on March 20! We are
very grateful for everything! These past seven months have been overwhelmingly busy and filled with numerous building decisions that needed to be made immediately (or so it seemed), Dave’s brain surgery and recuperation, his mother’s passing, and other medical issues. As we prepare for fall, we still have some carpentry and electrical work to be done and, of course, plantings around the new house. Life has certainly been difficult and different, but God has been good. As some of you know, the Red Cross requested that we share our story about the fire and finding two wood crosses in piles of hot coals. Shortly after the video was posted on YouTube, we were told that it had been viewed more often than all their other tapes put together. God is at work! Feel free to stop by to visit!

Using TFC or Pavilion?
If you plan to use the TFC or pavilion facilities, be sure to make your reservations in writing ASAP. This applies to EACH individual and/or group for church and/or personal rentals. If any church group plans to use paper goods from TFC, make your needs known in advance. A donation for such supplies should be made to the Building Fund. Do not just assume that the facilities or supplies will be available. See Dave Evelhoch or put a note in his church mailbox, or call the church secretary for more information. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
HOPEFUL SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS Do you need a Sunday school class? Consider yourself invited to the Hopeful SS class in TFC at 9 AM each Sunday morning! Discussion is always lively, and new members are always welcome. Bring your own Bible, or borrow one of the Bibles provided in the classroom. Currently, the lessons are based on the epistle of Ephesians, which was written by Paul. He wrote the letter to the Ephesians to teach about the grace of God, the calling of Christians, the unity of believers, and God’s eternal purposes that were revealed through Christ. Paul reveals what is needed in a strong, healthy, and effective church and for practical ethical Christian living. In addition to the weekly lessons, the class has developed a prayer ministry of concerns and praises. An email update is sent out with the prayer list and notes from the day’s lesson. We hope that you will come join the Hopeful SS Class! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Publicity? Communication? If your church group is planning an event that is open to the public and you want help getting it publicized, please see Betty B. Evelhoch or email the details to [email protected]. Your information can be submitted to our area cable TV,
radio, newspapers, Facebook, and church website, in addition to the church bulletins and newsletters if the info is received in plenty of time for such publicity. Some sites require several weeks advance notice.
