T his year, Hebron High
School’s Prom will take place on
April 25th, 2015, and the theme is
“A Masquerade Moment”. The Grand March
which is open to anyone that wishes to attend
is being held at 4:30 in the Hebron
High School auditorium, and at-
tendees must be there by 4:00 to
line up. Pictures for all prom goers
will be taken shortly after the
Grand March. The dance will be
held at the usual venue of the
Macedonian Cultural Center (St. Peter and
Paul), at 9660 Broadway in Crown Point, and
the doors will open at 6 pm. All prom goers
will be expected to show up by 7 pm for din-
ner, and the dance will end at midnight. This
year, dinner will consist of baked chicken,
mostaccioli, mashed potatoes, California
blend vegetables, and ice cream. Something
to remember is that there will be a random
breathalyzer held at the door; if you are
caught drinking you will be asked
to leave the prom and no refunds
will be given. Also, the “no grind-
ing” rule will still be in effect, and
wristbands will be provided at
the door. If students are caught
grinding, they will have their
wristband removed as their first offense, and
if they are caught again, they will be asked to
leave the venue. We are extremely excited for
this year’s prom and we want to wish the
students and staff a safe and fun time!
A Masquerade Moment
The Music Man Hebron High School’s spring musical production this year is The Music Man, written by Meredith Willson in 1957. The Music Man is a story about a con man named Harold Hill who poses as a boys’ band organizer in and leader in 1912 and sells band instruments and uniforms to the naïve Iowa towns-folk, promising to train the members of the new band. But, Harold is no musician and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons at all. Librarian and piano teacher Marian Paroo sees through him and inevitably falls in love. Harold risks his life and career to be with her. Come and support your Hebron High School Drama Club to see how the story unfolds. Director Jared Grigsby, along with the students of Hebron High School’s Drama Department, are working diligently to memorize lines, perform choreography, and practice singing the songs to make this the best production yet. Upcoming show dates are Friday April 10th and Saturday April 11th starting at 7 pm, and Sunday April 12th starting at 2 pm. The Hebron Drama Department hopes to see all of you there!

Baseball
The 2015 Hebron Girls Softball season has finally begun and they have played two of the hardest teams to begin their sea-son, back-to-back. The season opener was a home game against Lowell, one of the toughest teams they would have to play all year. Hebron held their own, however, making it a one point game by the fourth inning. Lowell scored one more run and won by the seventh, making it a 4-2 loss. Regardless of starting their season off with a loss, they played well and held their heads high. The day after that, they played Portage, which is one of the best teams in the region. The loss was a tough one, but the team used that momentum to defeat Winamac 6-3. Their next games are Saturday, April 11th against Hobart and Tuesday, April 14th against Whiting. Our lady hawks softball team has so much potential this year, and we are excited to see what they will bring in the future. Come out and support your 2015 Hebron Hawks Softball Team!
Hebron baseball has begun! The
boys scrimmaged Morgan Town-
ship on Wednesday, April 1st and
had their season opener against
Andrean on Saturday, April 4th.
Although the boys did not come
out victorious, they worked hard
and showed huge potential. Go-
ing 15-11 and winning PCC Round
Robin last year, the baseball team
has set high expectations for
themselves. Doing so well in the
past, we are anticipating great
outcomes from the team this year!
Their game against Wheeler High
School at the Gary Railcats Stadi-
um was cancelled due to the
weather, but it was rescheduled
for next Wednesday, April 15th.
You can purchase your tickets at
the stadium for only $5. Their up-
coming games include Saturday,
April 11th against Knox and Mon-
day, April 13th at Whiting. Come
out to support your Hebron Boys
Baseball Team to see some more
exciting and memorable games!

Senior Art Show
The girls and boys track teams
have been working hard since
the beginning of March, getting
in shape for their track season.
The throwers are building their
muscles, the sprinters are build-
ing their speed, the distance run-
ners are building their endur-
ance, and the rest of the team is
getting back into the groove of
things. Their first meet is April
14th at 4:30, where they’re hop-
ing to do their best and start the
season off with a win. In their
first meet, the Hawks will be
hosting the LaCrosse Tigers and
the Covenant Christian Knights.
The Girls Track Team’s goals
are to have as many accomplish-
ments as they can and to grow
close as a team and a track and
field family. Our seniors this
year, Liz Fox and Kelly Steffan,
are hoping to lead their team
with confidence and strength
this year, and foreign exchange
students Marijana Damjanac
and Nadja Gerhards are looking
forward to being a part of a
Track and Field team for the
first time. After coming off a
great 2014 season, including
winning the PCC meet and win-
ning PCC Round-Robin, the
Boys Track Team looks to con-
tinue to dominate the PCC in
2015. Four members of the
2014 team that are returning for
the 2015 season made it to re-
gionals last year, including: Joe
MacNeill in the two mile, Scott
Crawley in the 800m, Eric
Brebner in the one mile, and
Brad Blank in the high jump.
Future meets for boys and girls
track include Thursday, April
16th at 4:30 where the Hawks
will host Knox, and Monday,
April 20th at 4:30 at River For-
est. The 2015 PCC Meet is
about a month away and will be
hosted by Hebron this year. The
meet will be held on Saturday,
May 9th at 9:00 am. We wish
both teams good luck this sea-
son and hope to hear more from
them about their achievements.
Our senior art students are currently
getting prepared to display their art-
work that they have created through-
out their years at Hebron to
the rest of the student body
and faculty. At the end of
each year, the seniors at
Hebron get a chance to cre-
ate their own displays,
showcased in the main hallway, to re-
flect their artwork and their personali-
ties at Hebron High School. The sen-
iors who will be displaying their art-
work are Billy Balding, Matt Cham-
bers, Matt Frey, Gabby Heinold,
Kaylea Malcolm, Ashley
Rumford, Aliyah Spen-
cer, and Sam Stueber.
The art show will start on
May 4th and goes all the
way until May 22nd. So
come out to support your senior artists
to see all of the beautiful works of art
they have created. Congrats seniors!

National Honor Society The Hebron High School National Honor Society has been very busy the past few weeks. We organized the an-nual Red Cross Blood Drive last month and collected 52 pints, potentially sav-ing up to 156 lives! We want to thank everyone who do-nated or helped out to make this such a success. We will also be selling leftover Brian Novreske T-shirts, so if any-one wants to buy one or has an idea of what we can do with them, please talk to an NHS member or Mrs. Kiner. Furthermore, we will be having our annual Town-wide Food Drive next month in mid-May. This is a time where everyone gets together and goes out into the community to collect
items to donate to our local food pan-try. This is an amazing cause and if you would like to donate, once again see an NHS member or Mrs. Kiner in the up-coming weeks. NHS members can also
get hours by helping out with the musical or the dodgeball tournament, and returning members can get hours by working at graduation, or volunteering this summer at the Hebron Public Library. We will also be having our last meeting next month, so we want to encourage all the
freshman who are interested in being NHS members to apply next year in the fall. Thank you to all students and faculty members who have made this year so fun and successful!

There is exciting news in the media center. Our Destiny catalog has moved to
a cloud-based version! This means we no longer have to depend on a server
and the risk that it may shut down. This move has also allowed us to be updat-
ed to the most recent version. Searching on the catalog is now more simple
than it’s ever been. If you need a book for Reading Counts, you can search
with that modifier. If you need a specific Lexile range, you can search by that
modifier too. So, check it out when you get a chance. Log onto the media cen-
ter website and click on the catalogue link to start exploring!
