The Epiphany of the Lord January 3, 2016 From Our PastorOn behalf of the priests and staff at St. Bonaventure, we wish you all a Happy New Year! What a grand and glorious Christmas celebration we are experiencing! And we even had a white Christmas! Thank you to the St. Bons staff for giving of your full self, like our Blessed Mother, during this busy season. Thank you to the decorating com- mittee in the gradual adornment of our church for Advent and Christmas. It really allowed us to worship more ful- ly. Thank you to our choirs and musicians for lifting our hearts and minds to God. Thank you to all our deacons, servers, lectors, EMHCs, ushers and others who ministered in particular ways during our grand liturgies. And thank you, parishioners and visitors, for attending, making God a priority in this season of joy and hope! This weekend, we celebrate Epiphany , literally a manifestationor appearance of the Savior to the Magi. This contains a deeper meaning, that of Christ being revealed to people of all faiths (or no faith at all), not just the Jews. Jesus manifests himself in a special way to us in the Eucharist. Do we recognize him as the King of Kings and the Lord of our lives in this simple way; or do we miss this revelation as did the Jewish people in Jesus time? As you read this, I am enjoying time with my Dad and brothers in Billings, Montana. Representatives from Blest Art olivewood products from the Holy Land will be located in the Parish Center after all the Masses next weekend, January 9th & 10th. I have several items in my own collection. Gods blessings, Parish Office: 402-564-7151; St. Bons Grade School: 402-564-7153 www.stboncc.com

Epiphany of Our Lord “…the Gentiles are co-heirs, members of the

same body, and co-partners in the promise in

Christ Jesus through the Gospel.” (Ephesians 3:6) Today we celebrate that Christ came to all of us, not just the Hebrews. He made us all one body with Him. We were all given different gifts; we all have different yet equally valuable roles to

play in the Body of Christ. Ask God how He wants you to use your gifts so that we may all “be one” in this Year of Mercy.

LADIES OF THE LORD—CIRLE 2 Carol Sand will host a Christmas holiday gather for Circle 2 at her home, 116 South Parkway on Monday, January 4, 6:00 p.m. Please bring an appetizer to share.

BLEST ART OLIVEWOOD PRODUCTS Blest Art olivewood products will be at our parish, the weekend of January 9th & 10th. For centuries, the Christians in and around Bethlehem have earned a living by carving religious olive wood art to sell to visiting pilgrims. Blest Art helps the strug-gling Christian families of Bethlehem by marketing their artwork in the United States. We will be bringing hand-carved nativity sets, statues, crosses, rosaries and many other pieces of beautiful olive wood art and will be set up in the Parish Center after all the Mases.
