Distribution Locations

The Current distributes more that 3,000 copies weekly. These are available at more than 18 distribution locations on NSU’s main campuses in Ft. Lauderdale. The Current is available on our Web site at www.nsucurrent.com. The newspaper is also avaliable to students through Shark Fins, a weekly e-mail based newsletter, that every student receives on Tuesdays. The newspaper is also distributed to our Student Educational Centers at the following locations: Ft. Myers, Jacksonville, Miami, Miramar, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach.

On-campus newsstands are located in residence halls, academic and administrative buildings, sports and recreation buildings libraries and clinics.

Publication Dates

The Orientation Edition of The Current is geared to the fresh-man and new students coming to Nova Southeastern University. The purpose of the issue is to familiarize new students (mostly freshmen and transfer students) with our campus.

This 46-page issue is distributed every June to our newsstands. In addition to this, every new student will receive a copy of The Current in their packages when arriving for orientation. The issue is also distributed to select locations around the university.

Errors in Advertisements The Current is not responsible for errors on artwork created by the advertiser or printing errors for advertisements submitted less than one week before publication. Compensation for errors made by The Current cannot exceed the cost of the original advertisement.

*Space purchased is per client and specific content. Any division of page content may result in additional fees or removal.

Classified GuidlineA contact name and number is required within the advertisement regardless of classification. It is up to The Current’s discretion whether the advertisement is run or not. Advertising requests must be verified with the Business Manager 7 days prior to the issue run-date.

Design ServicesThe Current will custom design a client’s advertisement for an additional charge of $75 per hour (minimum of 1 hour). The client must submit all materials—logos, copy, any desired graphics or concepts—10 days prior to scheduled run date. Contact our Business Manager more information.

DiscountsDiscount rates are avaliable for bulk purchasing of inserts. Please contact our Business Manager for a list of the discounted rates.

All inserts must be received 14 days prior to run date. A proof of the inserts must be sent to The Current for review through email. The Current reserves the right not to place inserts in the newspaper if they are not approved by the Business Manager, Chief of Visual Design and Editor-in-Chief.

Print Advertisement Submission Details

Placing an Advertisement

All advertisers must fill our an Advertisment Request Form before placing an advertisement in The Current. This form is available upon request.

All advertisments should be e-mailed to [email protected] in PDF, JPEG, TIFF or PNG format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. The Current will not be held responsible for the quality if advertisements below the required resolution.

All advertsiements must be received at least seven days before the issue is placed on newsstands. If your ad is being created by The Current’s Chief of Visual Design, all advertisement materials—including copy, photos, logos, etc.—must be received 10 days prior to run date. All exceptions are considered under the discretion

of the Business Manager, Chief of Visual Design and Editor-in-Chief.

The Current will not be responsible for resizing advertisements if they do not meet the dimension requirements for the purchased space. Please note that any discrepancies in this area may cause the advertisement to be delayed, replaced or forfeited.

Method of PaymentAccepted methods of payment are cash, check (business checks accepted) or credit card. Checks are to be made payable to Nova Southeastern University.

Payment is required prior to the printing of advertisements.

Non-Promotional Advertisements

The Current will not promote the

following: adult entertainment, risqué connotations, alcohol, tobacco, illegal substance, violence, firarms or any other material that would violate the policy of Nova Southeastern University.

Advertisements are subject to approval by the Business Manager, Chief of Visual Deign and the Editor-in-Chief. The Current may not run advertisements that may compromise the integrity of the paper or university, damage its creditbility or create a bias—real or perceived.

Combination Rates

Combination Rates at a discounted price are avaliable with Radio X on 88.5 FM, and SUTV, Sharks United Tevelvison. Please contact our Business Manager for more information on these rates.

Volume RatesVolume rates are available for those who are interested in purchasing advertisements in large quantities.

Volume rates are availablefor the following sizes: back cover page, center spread, full page, 2/3 page and 1/2 page for 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 weeks of advertisements.
