Sanctity of Life

Is Jesus calling you?

Dear Friends, In today’s Gospel account of the Transfiguration, Jesus removes the humble veil of his earthly attire to reveal his true glory as Son of God and King of Kings to his disciples. As the disciples grapple with their understanding of who Jesus is, Peter instinctively cries out “Lord, it is good that we are here.” While Peter may not have fully understood everything that happened on Mount Tabor, he was able to recognize the importance of being in Jesus’ presence. Although His glory is veiled, Jesus dwells in fullness with us today in the Eucharist. Through Eucharistic adoration, we, too have the privilege of beholding the Lord and resting in His presence. It’s a great grace to have so many adoration times available to us in our cluster! While I love to frequent Eucharistic adoration, I often forget Peter’s words “Lord, it is good that we are here.” Instead of just simply enjoying Jesus' presence, I usually spend my time seeking answers and understanding to life’s events. I pray for wisdom, I pray for help in discerning the Lord’s will every day, and I pray for answers to challenges I am facing. Although Jesus can and does provide answers to life’s challenges, He usually first reveals to us His Lordship. In prayer, Jesus reveals to us that He is Lord over everything. He is Lord over our marriage, our children, and our finances. He is Lord over every storm and obstacle we face. The revelation of Jesus’ Lordship gives us the grace to know that we don’t have spend our time in prayer figuring things out because Jesus knows what we need and has already provided for it. Instead of seeking answers, we just need to seek Him. This week, pray for the grace to be able to simply rest in the presence of Jesus. Let Him reveal His Lordship to you and listen to Him say “it is good that you are here!” ~Kristin Molitor

Loving God, I thank you for the gift of life you gave and continue to give to me and to all of us. Merciful God, I ask your pardon and forgiveness for my own failure and the failure of all people to respect and foster all forms of life in our universe. Gracious God, I pray that with your grace, I and all people will reverence, protect and promote all life and that we will be especially sensitive to the life of the unborn, the abused, neglected, Disabled, and the elderly. I pray, too, that all who make decisions about life in any form will do so with wisdom, love and courage. Living God, I praise and glorify you as Father, Source of all life, as Son, Savior of our lives, and As Spirit, Sanctifier of our lives. ~Catholic Online

Dear friends in Christ, Spending the past week in your parishes has been such a rich blessing for us! We are very grateful to all those who have been involved in the program and supported us throughout the week. We have been blessed to get to know many of your through learning about salvation history with the youth, through fantastic outdoor games, through being hosted in some of your homes, and through meeting you over the many breakfasts, lunches and dinners that you generously prepared for us. We know that the program’s success was greatly due to that generosity, as well as to all the prayers that many of you have been offering for every-one involved. May Our Lord bless you one hundred fold for every-thing that you have done! Know that our grateful prayers are with you as we go forward throughout the summer! In Christ, 2017 Totus Tuus: Team Holy Spirit– Miara, Nikolas, Theresa and Luke
