The
POLISH MOOSE HUMOR….
Two Polish hunters named Donald and Gordon, hired a pilot to fly them into
the Canadian wilderness, where they managed to bag two big Bull Moose.
As they were loading the plane to return, the pilot said the plane could take
only the hunters, their gear and one Moose. The hunters objected strongly
saying, "Last year we shot two, and the pilot let us take them both. And he
had exactly the same airplane as yours." Reluctantly the pilot, not wanting to
be outdone by another bush pilot, gave in and everything was loaded.
However, even under full power, the little plane couldn't handle the load
and went down, crashing in the wooded wilderness. Somehow, surrounded
by the moose, clothing and sleeping bags, Donald and Gordon survived the
crash. After climbing out of the wreckage, Gordon asked Donald, "Any idea
where we are?" Donald replied, "I think we're pretty close to where we
crashed last year."
POLSKI MIESIĄC (Polish Month) in the Village...
In all seriousness, though, we will be celebrating Polish fare all month long
throughout the Village. Polish food represents a lot of what the Village is
about...not only is the leader of the Village Polish but Polish food reminds of
us community, family, wholesome cooking, and yes a little quirkiness. So we
hope to you’re able to stop by and celebrate with us this October.

special Polish dinner menu Monday through Saturday
starting at 5 pm. Chef Mike has worked hard on putting
together a menu of items that will hopefully give you
memories of your busia’s cooking. If you’re not Polish,
this is your chance to
taste real down home
Polish meals with, of
course, just a little bit of
the Honey Creek touch.
Because we will be
hand-making many
parts of these dishes we
will be taking off our weekday specials menu for Octo-
ber so we will have the time to produce the Polish menu
each night. In addition to the Polish fare, we will have
Okicim O.K. lager on tap throughout October. O.K.
beer as it is known, is an authentic Polish pale lager. It
pairs perfectly with the kielbasa and
golabki!
Also in October, we will be updating our bottled/can
beer list for the fall. Some of the new features on the list
will include: Sam Smith Taddy Porter, Lord Hobo Boom
Sauce Double IPA, Stroh’s Detroit Style Lager, and
Greenbush Star Chicken Shotgun IPA. As for our draft list
in October, look for the beers below that will be on tap
most of the month!
