My Big Mouth Whoeversaid,Sticksandstonesmaybreakmybones,butwordswill

neverhurtmeisabig,fatliar.Wordsarepowerful.Theycanbreathelifeor

deathintoanotherpersonslife.Thereisonewhoserashwordsarelikesword

thrusts,butthetongueofthewisebringshealing(Proverbs12:18).Withthis

inmind,Ithinkwecanagreethatweshouldbeextremelycarefulwithour

words.

TheBiblecautionsustogosofarastonotspeakatall.Anabsenceof

wordsiswiserthananyatall.Evenafoolwhokeepssilentisconsideredwise;

whenhecloseshislips,heisdeemedintelligent(Proverbs17:28).Thisis

completelycounter-cultural.Weliveinatimewheninformationistossedoutatusatrapid-firespeed.Itisnotaboutthequalityoftheinformationbutthe

quantityoftheinformationdistributedinthefastedandmostsensationalway.

SortoflikethewaywelikeourburgerandfriesfromMcDonalds.Isyour

mouthrunninglikeafast-fooddrive-throughorisitlovingly,thoughtfullyand

carefullypreparingawholesome,well-balancedsit-downmealforothers?

Beyondwordsorsilence,Godalsoinstructsustoconsiderthemanner

inwhichwespeaktooneanother,inotherwords,ourtone.Youcanhavethe

bestintentionswhenyouspeakandyoucanevenspeakthetruth,butwhen

spokeninahaughtytoneoraroughtone,yourwordswilldivideanddestroy.

Asoftanswerturnsawaywrath,butaharshwordstirsupanger(Proverbs

15:1).

Inoursinfulbodies,wewillcontinuetohurtoneanotherwithour

words.However,wecanpraythatGodwillmakeussensitivetothisparticular

sin.AndwecantrustthepromisethatGodwillcontinuetomakeusinto

Christsimagemoreandmoreeachday.O,Lord,maymywordsbefew.May

theybuildupthebodyofChristandmagnifyYourname.

We will discover what is means to lead in prayer and

what it means to be led in prayer through an hour long

teaching video from Daniel Henderson titled Leading

in Prayer.

30 Hour FamineApril 26-27, 2013 @ 7:00pm

The students from our youth group will be raising

money and fasting for 30 hours to help raise support

and awareness of childhood hunger around the world.

Speak to any student or leader to support the work of

World Vision through this fundraising event.

Church Prayer Hour

April 28, 2013 6:00pm

In response to the video teaching Leading in Prayer,

we will gather together to be led in prayer for Bethel,

her leaders, and her ministries.
