Farmstead Mercantile is one of Rhode Island’s most festive shop-ping experiences. Located in a two-story barn on a historic farm-stead, it is one of Warren’s largest shopping destinations featuring everything from candles to custom furniture and antiques. The his-tory of the farmstead alone is worth a trip, once part of a rare 17th century saltwater livestock farm. In fact, the farm’s house is the old-est extent house in Warren and is protected as such by the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission. The first floor is what the Stone family calls a “country store with a twist.” It is not your grandma’s country store – featuring a selec-tion of gifts and décor for just about everyone’s taste and for every
