We are a third generation family business and we offer clientsfrom various industries individual and innovative diposal andrecycling solutions

And we have gathered extensive experience in logistics, wastecollection and bio waste treatment

We excel at separating organic/bio waste from the waste stream

And we use this to a new level and generate green energy

This collective know-how allows us to develop optimized economic and technical solutions for our clients which are independent of particular processes or manufacturers’ biases

Our concept

2019 6

First we capture the regenerative energy from the existingbio and green waste.

Then with subsequent composting we maintain the excellentfertilizing properties of composts.

WE COMBINE ENERGY AND MATERIAL USE

Our expertise

2019 7

We manage the waste disposal for about 2.3 million people in 15 regional municipalities in Bavaria about a quarter of the province.

In the process, we also collect approx. 100,000 tons of bio waste every year.

Through our P3 (Private-Public-Partnership Company), we recycle approx. 25,000 tons of organic/bio waste every year.

As a result we generate 5.7 million kWh and supply approx. 1,600 households with clean green power every year.

Why fermentation? Advantages of combined energy use!

2019 10

Due to the increased degradation of organic matter in the combined use of

energetic material, we achieve a doubling of capacity compared to

pure/traditional composting.

Significant improvement with odor management. The odor load from the

intensive rot is eliminated because the most odor-intensive parts of the

biological waste are already completely broken down in the closed

fermentation stage.

Clear environmental advantages can be achieved by first fermenting and

subsequent composting of SSOs, in other words to produce both energy

and useful matter from biomass will lead in less GHG emissions compared

to pure composting plants

Advantages of dry fermentation for bio waste

2019 12

Systems engineering / equipment is less complex less susceptible to

interference

Can process waste with contaminants (e.g., metals, rocks and sand)

Produces less effluent than wet digestion reduced water usage

Hygienisation is already carried out in the fermentation stage (only with

plug flow fermentation)

Plant has a smaller footprint Plug flow fermentation is particularly

suitable for the retrofitting of existing composting plants

General information

In principle we (HEINZ) are independent from any suppliers and system providers.

However, we attach great importance to quality. Therefore, the component suppliers listed in

this presentation are not final, but companies whose technology has already been

implemented in many projects and has proven itself.

Our preferred technology suppliers - based on our joint experience - are Thöni

Industriebetriebe GmbH in the field of plug-flow fermentation and Pöttinger

Entsorgungstechnik GmbH & Co. KG in the field of dry-batch fermentation.
