The Asante Children’s Choir is Coming
January 25th
The Asante Children’s Choir is coming to Hope Lutheran on Sunday
morning, January 25th.
What is the Asante Children’s Choir?
“Asante” is a Swahili word translated “Thank You” in English. The Asante Chil-
dren’s Choir is made up of children from East Africa, a region recovering from
years of civil war and genocide that have claimed millions of lives leaving thou-
sands of children and women as orphans and widows. The 22 person choir is
dedicated to spreading love, hope and joy while raising awareness for the desper-
ate plight of orphans and other vulnerable children.
The children who have been rescued from some of life’s most difficult circum-
stances take pride in expressing gratitude through their music. Their perform-
ances are the true testimonies and living “Thank-You” notes sung to everyone
who has invested in their lives giving them great pride and hope for a brighter
future.
The children’s songs and dancing will inspire you. More than this, their faith in
the Lord Jesus will inspire you. Start inviting people now. Let’s fill the church!

Joint Thanksgiving Service
At First Methodist Church
November 26th
7:00 PM
First Methodist, Good Shepherd Episcopal, Hope Lutheran, Thanksgiving Tabernacle Bible Fellowship, and Rock
of Faith Family Church are all invited to come together November 26th to declare that we are not a people who can
be so blessed and yet so silent in thanksgiving.
You can give thanks anywhere. But you can not make a declarative statement just anywhere. People do not know
what happens in your house. Come together in the House of God on Thanksgiving Eve and it will be crystal clear
what you have gathered to do.
Come make a statement. Declare to our community that we are not a people who are ungrateful.

Spiritual Growth and Training Opportunities
We are being trained by Jesus ... as His disciples ... to be missionaries ... in order to transform the
world wherever we are day to day!
We are encouraged to "press on" in "knowing Jesus" as if we wanted to win an Olympic race
(Philippians 3:7-14) ... with perseverance, persistence, practicing, putting our energy toward this end.
This is the most important goal in life. Jesus has paid the price with His life to forgive your sins. He
has risen from the dead and is alive right now and therefore, ever lives so that He can be alive in your
life right now... to share in relationship with you and be sufficient for all that is needed in life. Let's
"press on" to know Jesus!
Over the years, I have seen people become POWERFUL KINGDOM PEOPLE of Jesus through opportunities
like the following! All newcomers are welcome!
Listen and Get to Know Jesus ... Reading and Studying the entire Bible over three years: Timothy Project Bi-
ble Study, Wednesdays, 7:00-8:15PM. Recognize the personal practical voice of Jesus in His word. Learn a simple
thorough study method to fully understand Scripture. Practice praying. Get to know Jesus. No Bible experience
needed. All newcomers welcome. Taught by Pastor Wendy. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teach-
ing, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for
every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (hence, the name: “Timothy Project”)
Wednesday evenings: 6:15 PM Quiet Worship (Come as you are able!) & 6:45 PM Holy Communion Thursdays, The Apprentice Series, 6:30PM: Using Scripture, soul training exercises, comfortable conversation
and the book “The Good and Beautiful God,” this is an awesome opportunity to deepen our prayer lives, hear per-
sonally from Jesus in His word and allow Him to transform our words, thoughts, character, actions and habits into
His image.
In addition, see the latest focus for ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL!
FAMILY SUNDAY SCHOOL continues, following worship on Sunday mornings. We are training parents to nur-
ture the faith of their children in the home, practicing FAITH FIVE (a way of doing family devotions for all ages)
and other family-oriented scriptural and discipleship resources!

Matthew 11:28-30 ~ 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
