  • The Museum of Islamic Art Opened since December 2008, The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) is dedicated to reflecting the full vitality, complexity and diversity of the arts of the Islamic world. It is a world- class cultural institution, which preserves, studies and exhibits masterpieces spanning three continents and 13 centuries. As a centre for information, research and creativity, the museum aims to reach a global wide audience and serve as a hub for dialogue and cultural exchange.

    Designed by Pritzker Price Laureate I.M Pei, the building is an architectural masterpiece that houses a magnificent collection of artworks dating from the 7th through to the 19th century.

    The Museum of Islamic Art is the flagship project of Qatar Museums Authority (QMA), which under the leadership of its Chairperson, H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, is transforming the State of Qatar into a cultural capital of the Middle East.

  • Our Venues

  • The Atrium Located at the heart of the museum, the Atrium is the grand hall indoor space with a spiral staircase overlooking the Corniche through a 45 meter window.

    Basked in sunlight during the day and an enchanting view of Doha’s skyline during the evening, the Atrium can hold up to 700 guests for seated dining and up to 2000 guests for a standing reception.

    It is the ideal site to host gala dinners, graduation ceremonies, launches, receptions and other memorable events.

  • The Auditorium Located on the first floor of the museum, the Auditorium is used for lectures, press conferences, special launches, seminars, movie premieres or other events that require theatre style/auditorium seating.

    The total space is 430 m2, which includes 195 fixed seats, in-house projection, digital sound and cinematic screen.

    Coffee break settings and stand up receptions are available outside the Auditorium.

  • The Central and Western Courtyards

    The Central and the Western Courtyards are both embellished with elegant fountains, overlooking the Corniche that offer a spectacular view of the enclosed bay. They are the main outdoor venues inside the museum’s environment and are ideal for receptions or special events for outdoors.

    The Western Courtyard can accommodate up to 700 guests for cocktail reception style, and 200 guests in a seated round table style.

    The Central Courtyard can host up to 900 guests for cocktail receptions and 400 guests for seated round table dining. Pleasant and welcoming, the Courtyards offer the most charming seaside ambience.

  • The Majlis is a small and intimate space usually booked for VIPs and special guests as a waiting area prior to an event.

    Private meetings for up to 20 guests can be held upon request.

  • Located on the top floor of the Museum, and overlooking the bay to the city’s skyline, IDAM provides guests with a sumptuous dining experience. The stunning space offers a round table dining style that can comfortably seat up to 60 guests.

    Associating the technique of French cuisine to the finest Arabic flavors and products, in a venue aligning prestige and opulence, IDAM is the most suitable destination to host exclusive events that projects uniqueness and distinction.

  • The Classroom The Education Centre offers the Classroom as a meeting space which can be used for conferences, workshops, lectures, meetings, presentations or press conferences.

    The Classroom can hold up to 40 guests in a U-shaped table setting and 120 guests seated in a theatre style setting.

    The room can be equipped with any requisite meeting amenities such as a screen, projector, and sound system.

    Our high-speed public wireless LAN system offers a simple, fast and secure way of accessing the internet within the premises.

    Coffee break settings and stand up receptions are available outside the room.

  • MIA Park Surrounding the museum is a 280,000 m2 park designed by Pei Partnership Architects of New York. The park offers a number of activities, such as a playground, paddle boats and bungee trampolines.

    Two food and beverage kiosks are available, offering coffee specialties, homemade snacks, pastries and bakery items in a modern outdoor space and furnished by Patricia Urquiola.

    The park is very popular with families and has also been utilized by business, sporting and cultural groups for their particular functions.

    The Park also features a 24m high sculpture by internationally acclaimed

    American Sculpture artist Richard Serra which sits proudly at the distal end of the park peninsula.

    Upon request and subject to conditions, certain areas are available for large unique outdoor corporate events.
