The visitors will be undertaking training in the Department of Education’s new Human Resources system. They will be working in the computer lab attached to the library. Last week I was very fortunate to be able to attend the annual Principal’s Conference in Sydney and listen to several motivational speakers including Turia Pitt, Eric Sheninger, Michael Crossland and Leigh Sales. We also heard from Hon. Rob Stokes MP and Prof Adrian Piccoli. Two very interesting talks were given on technology and the future. It was extremely interesting to hear of the new developments occurring so rapidly in technology and to start to plan and work on how we will equip our students for this rapidly changing world. KINDERGARTEN 2019 Our orientation program continues again this Tuesday, 6th November. Students are invited to attend school between 9:30am and 11am on Tuesday morning. This will be our last Kindergarten orientation session for this year. P&C MEETING This Tuesday we will be having our monthly meeting. Kate Washington will be a special guest at this meeting. She is coming to talk with us about opportunities to apply for funding and support for our school. We would love to see some more parents join us. The children love seeing their parents up at school. DAY FOR DANIEL We raised $270 for Day for Daniel. Senior Constable Mann came and talked to the kids about Child Safety. It was great to see everyone in a sea of red. SWIMMING SCHEME Our annual Swimming Scheme begins next Monday for a two week period. Thank you all for your payments and permission slips. The scheme will run regardless of rain, so please have your child prepared to swim every day. There will be a meeting with Ms Powell and the swimmers this week and a further note regarding organisation for the scheme coming out. STAGE 3 CAMP Camp is on next week from Wed 14th to Friday 16th. There is a list of what to pack on our school website if you can’t find yours. The kids are going to have a great time. GYMNASTICS K-2 Next Tuesday the gymnastics program for our younger students will begin. This program will run over 4 weeks in our school hall. Students should wear sports uniform on these days. They will take their shoes off to complete the activities. ENROLMENTS AND CLASSES FOR 2019 Each year careful consideration is undertaken by all of our staff members in the formation of our classes for the following year. There are many factors we take into consideration. One of those factors is parental requests. As we will begin the process in the second half of this term if you have a request you would like us to consider could you please notify me in writing by Friday 30 th November. All requests will be considered but are not guaranteed. SELECTIVE HIGH SCHOOL – 2020 Applications In the last week of school some information was sent home with our Year 5 students that provide the information you need to know if you wish for your child to apply for a place in a Year 7 class in a Selective High School for 2020. The placement tests will be held on Thursday 14 th March 2019. You must apply online between the 9 th October and the 12 th November 2018. Dear parents, carers and friends of our school,
