ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
We ensure economic and social rights for all by ensuring equitable distribution of healthcare resources and better living conditions for all ; irrespective of their economic status
The Telerad Foundation is the concept and passion of the founders of Teleradiology Solutions, two Yale trained physicians who returned to India in 1999 with the dream of using their learning gained in the ivy-league cam-puses of the US to bring the best in medical technology to the rural populations of the developing world and the best in medical education to postgraduate students across India, using information technology as the tool and medium.
Our advances in health is a baseline for all the foundation activities by freeing up resources and technology already public services already public services to ensure equitable access to high quality care. This enables us to design new revenue models that kickstart healthcare in newer geographies.

Harnessing Technological breakthroughs to over ride infrastructural barriers - To develop low cost technologies to make the delivery of such services feasible to locations where high-speed broadband has not yet penetrated. Some interesting projects involving the use of smartphones to digitize and transmit Xray images obtained at PHCs or small rural diagnostic centers , as well as developing low cost soft-ware for uploading, review, archival and reporting of such images are being actively supported by the Telerad Foundation.
Partners with Government Agencies and Rural Area Health Centers -The Foundation also supports ongoing projects that are focussed on developing low cost telemedicine solu-tions for delivery of primary as well as tertiary level consultations to a rural population.
Story from the Field Ms Devi from Itanagar aged 70 years, had been suffering from headache off and on and giddiness for a period of 3 months. The physician at Ramakrishna Mission Hospital Dr Kaki referred her for a CT scan which was performed with on 20/6/2015. Immediately the scan images were electronically transmitted to TRS teleradiolo-gy reporting center at Bangalore where Dr Harish BS reviewed the images and observed numerous small cysts within the brain, based on which he diagnosed the condition neurocysticercosis, representing a parasitic infec-tion of the brain that occurs from eating contaminated pork. This is a condition that is highly treatable with medication and does not require any surgical intervention. The appropriate treatment was therefore started immediately and Ms Devi is on course for an uncomplicated recovery in a very short time.
