INSTRUCTIONS

1.  This technical report shall be written individually. As for general guide, you should refer to the instruction manual or instruction given by the lecturer/ technician of the specified

hand tools for the general procedures. Please follow the safety precautions while you are

using the workshop.

2.  You are required to write the procedures of fabricating the product in the OPERATION

SHEET given. The procedures starts from a given workpiece until you have finished

fabricating the product as shown in the DRAWING SHEET.

3.  You are required to sketch the progress of your workpiece every week along with the

tools used and description of the work done on that particular week.

4.  You need to submit the Technical Report every week to your lecturer.

SAFETY PRECAUTION IN UniKL MSI WORKSHOP

1.  Wear workshop overall provided by UniKL MSI.

2.   Never wear loose clothing or neck tie when operating any machine.

3.   Never wear gloves when operating any machine.

4.  Remove wrist watches, rings and bracelets.

5.  Keep your hair short when working in the workshop.

6.  Do not keep any sharp tools in a breast pocket.

7.  Always wear approved safety glasses and safety helmet when necessary.

8.  Always use glove if you are handling sharp, hot or toxic material.

9.  Safety footwear should always be used when you are in a workshop.

10.  Do not horseplay in a workshop.

11.  Reckless, foolish and boisterous behaviour such as pushing, shouting, throwing things

and practical joking cannot be tolerated.

12.  Do not operate any machine before fully understand how to operate it.

13.  Be sure that the safety devices and guards are in place and in working order.

14.  Understand the special rule and regulation applicable to the machine.

15.  Be sure the cutting tool and the work piece are properly mounted.

16.  A machine should be operated by one person only.

17.  Always stop a machine before measuring, cleaning or making any adjustments.

18.  Know where and how to use the emergency stop.

19.  Always disconnect the power and lock it off when making repairs.

20.  Report any unsafe condition.

REMINDER 

1.  This technical report book should be submitted to your lecturer every week to check your 

 progress of project.

2.  Workpiece (material) replacement:

•  Students are allowed to replace the workpiece / material if it has been damaged.

•  The replacement can be done TWO times per semester with the permission from the

lecturer.

•  Penalty for each workpeice replacement are:

(i)  1st

replacement = deduction of 20 marks from total marks

(ii) 2ndreplacement = deduction of 30 marks from total marks
