Objectives

Through the use of this PowerPoint presentation students will be able to recognize the five stages of a frogs life cycle, the anatomy of the frog, and four different species of frogs.

Students will be able to complete a quiz with 100% accuracy.

This presentation is meant for students at any level in 5th and 6th grades.

Students should work individually or with a small group.

The presentation should be completed in a distraction free environment

A computer with sound is required.

Frogs lay their eggs in water or wet placesFloating clumps of eggs are called frog spawnOnce laid, the eggs are surrounded by a

jellylike covering to protect them

After 21 days the embryo leaves the jelly shell and attaches to a weed in the water

The embryo grows until it is big enough to break free into the water

This can take from 3 days to 3 weeks depending on the species of frog

Tadpole

After about 5 weeks, the tadpole starts to grow hind legs

This is followed by the growth of forelegs The tails become smallerLungs begin to develop Mouth widens

11 weeks after an egg is laid, a fully developed frog emerges from the water.

The frog will now live mostly on land, but returns to the water to swim.
