T-Series ONUEDA 1500 Portfolio

The T550G Optical Network Unit (ONU) supports delivery of carrier-class voice, high-speed Internet access, and IP television services. The T550G ONU/ONT introduces a modular chassis-based architecture to Ericsson's line of T-series ONUs/ONTs. The T550G plug-in circuit cards allow flexible port counts and are individually hot-swappable, allowing service capacity to be added as required.

Deployment OptionsThe T550G supports delivery of POTS only, VDSL2/ADSL only, or combined POTS and VDSL2/ADSL, and includes an integrated DSL splitter. The combination of the high bit rates and the scalability of the T550G makes it possible to maximize use of the copper plant and minimize capital and operating expenditures. The T550G ONU/ONT is environmentally hardened and is available in a CAD 16 outside plant pedestal solution that supports line powering.

The pedestal solution provides housing for the T550G plus terminations for line power and subscriber line drops. The pedestal can be used for either greenfield or brownfield installations.

Voice ServicesThe T550G supports up to twelve POTS ports (six two-port VF cards). The BLM 1500 GPON OLT and T550G ONU support delivery of voice services based on H.248 with echo cancellation provided on the subscriber side of the T550G. The supported telephony features include standard POTS, call forwarding, caller ID, call waiting, three-way calling, distinctive ringing, and visual message waiting indicators. Standard wiring and phone handsets can be used at the customer premises.

IPTV ServicesThe T550G uses VDSL2/ADSL to deliver IPTV services. The T550G supports up to twelve VDSL2/ADSL ports (three 4-port ODSL cards).

Deployment OptionsThe T312G ONU is easy to install and can be deployed as a greenfield solution or used to upgrade an existing FTTC deployment.

The T312G is designed to fit inside a CAD 12 pedestal. Upgrade installations allow reuse of most of the existing components thus providing a cost-effective retrofit solution.
