OverviewAdmissions and Transfers (A&T) is a ready to install, off the shelf software module that is part of the Synergy suite. It can run stand alone or as a part of the integrated suite of software. It is an easy to use multi-user Windows based network application that records details of school capacities, attendance applications, appeals and placements.

Synergy A&T provides for powerful and flexible search and selection of school place applications, allows efficient bulk process based on the admissions criteria for either the local authority (LA) or the individual school.
This also allows any school place application to
be quickly retrieved and updated. School place
availability is instantly accessible to respond to
enquiries. A fully automatic bulk allocation routine
(with simulation and full roll back) is provided.
Batch and automated letter production lets
parents know what is going on at any stage of the
process and full school reporting is also provided.
The system allows recording of the catchment
areas for maintained schools across school
phases as well as overlapping catchment areas
for denomination schools. The Geographical
Information Systems (GIS) module will retrieve
catchment area for the applicant and can generate
catchment based preferences.

Key features:
An embedded GIS extension module is available
to give an online distance measurement, straight
line (as the crow flies) and shortest calculated
route distances (safe walking routes) catchments
area and nearest school type details.
Online modules are available for pupils to apply
for school places and for schools to manage
those applications. Electronic Data Exchange
Module (*EDEM), within A&T is available and this
exchange can be automated, when appropriate.
These are real e-government applications that
will benefit both the applicants and the local
authority; the best solution available to support
co-ordinated admissions and transfers.
*EDEM allows authorities to import and export Department
for Education (DfE) defined data files which are required in
coordinates Admissions.
