Tools Project Supporting the Region in the use of Video Conferencing Technology
This support is offered in a number of ways: specific teacher support staff meeting presentations delivery of Institute Registered courses

Connected Classroom Project
Major state election commitment March 2007 $158m in funding over 4 years to June 2011:INTERACTIVE CLASSROOMS PROJECT (ICP) $66m for every NSW public school to be equipped with
an interactive whiteboard and video conferencing facility
NETWORK ENHANCEMENT PROJECT (NextGEN) $63m to expand bandwidth and improve the reliability

Interactive Classroom Training Program
The Interactive Classroom Training Program (ICTP) is being offered to schools as they have the Interactive Classrooms suite of equipment installed.
The ICTP is a two day training program that provides an introduction to the components of the Interactive Classroom and how they can be used to support teaching and learning in schools

Learning Tools Project - BlogEd
The NSW DET blogging tool 'blogED' was made available to schools from Monday 15 March 2010
School teachers will be able to use 'blogED' once access has been granted by their Principals through the Access Management Utility (AMU). Once enabled a new tab called 'Learning Tools' will appear on the teacher's portal page within 24 hours

•specified authors and members from within their school only with the default set to moderation
•no other users able to view or comment.
Private- My School
•specified authors and members from within their school only
•all DET users (not TAFE) able to view and comment, with compulsory moderation
All DET
•specified authors and members from within their school only
•any user on the public internet able to view and comment, with compulsory moderation.

BlogED Training
The Learning Systems team will be responsible for delivery of a familiarisation guide that will be offered to all schools.
Currently over 100 staff have registered for training this term.

Learning Systems Support
Video Conferencing Refresher
this project offers schools trained in Phases I, II and III a refresher course delivered after school via video conference aimed at building confidence in the use of video conferencing equipment, developing VC events and building links between schools that have this equipment installed.
Supporting Video Conference Events
provides DET staff with documentation and guidance for developing video conference events delivered to multiple sites.
Principals Getting Started
this project offers schools in Phases I, II, III and IV a one hour course delivered either face to face or via video conference aimed at demonstrating to principals the potential benefits in promoting wider use of interactive classroom equipment and assisting them with developing school plans in the area of interactive technology.
Joint Project with Curriculum Support
this project brings members of the Regional Implementation team into primary and secondary classrooms to work with teachers and curriculum consultants on developing resources that demonstrate effective use of interactive whiteboards and video conferencing equipment.
