Evaluator Comments
Our district has a
published technologypolicy however, due to
the funding for
technology, it is a work
in progress. These past
few years, have been
crucial to bring about
technology for all
schools; it is gradually
taking hold but funding
is an issue, due to the
economy and teacher
layoff in California. The technology plan is
understood but lack offunding for labs and
other technology and
the justification for it, is
limited.We do have a Career
Technical Education
coordinator at the
district level for review
and planning, but it is
only for the CTE
classes on campus.
We are in the processof creating a better
technology plan to
accommodate all areas
of the district, but again
it is mainly based on
Career Technical
Education and only for
those classes.Technology budget is
ongoing, but primarily
for CTE courses
(budget comes from
Carl Perkins funding
and the stateallocation). However, all
classified staff and
teachers have at least
one form of technology
for email, grading, data
and communication.

Overall school
technology budget is
through CTE and
funding through other
sources when available
(School Site Council
and Pinnacle
Funding).The main
priority for technology
use at this time, is
teacher for email,
attendance, grading,
data and
communication, as well
as remediation.
Technology systems are
used for ZANGLE:
(academic grading,
attendance discipline
plans, SpecialEducation IEPs).
Remediation programs:
English Language
Learner programs.
ZANGLE is available to
teachers, staff, parents
and students.Our campus technology
available to students
and staff are: Library
computers, one
computer lab (another
being created) and two
laptop carts (PC &Mac).
With limited resources
of technology on
campus, staff cannot
always depend on this
technology on a daily
basis, (often times a
waiting list for teachers
and their classes).
Technology
implementation for
assessment andremediation: (Read 180,
Math Plus and OARS:
student benchmarks
and testing). Students
and parents can check
grades daily through
ZANGLE.

A combination of
technology use of
resources, but
traditional methods also
are used by teachers
and staff.
Technology is used in
classes for curriculum,
in some form or
another: Five to six
teachers use technology
extensively in the
classroom.Quite a few teachers
have access to the
technology and apply it
daily when available.
Resources are limited
on campus, and some
teachers become
become complacentand resort to traditional
methods.
Regular use of
technology for
curriculum (in one form
or another) daily by a
most teachers however,
new technology is not
completely integrated
throughout our school. Some teachers, such as
myself, have all the
technology needed, butthat is only a few
teachers. Other
teachers only have one
to forms of technology
in the classroom; one
teacher computer and a
student computer.
Some teachers have
digital/optical overhead
projectors as well.
Students use
technology often, either
in class or on their ownwith other facilities on
campus.
-

Most students often use
computers, in the school
library, career center.
Students also use the
computer lab. Digital
imaging and video
production class,
students are expected
to use computers every
day.
ALL groups are aware
of the technology
implementation but a
few are involved
(technology committee)
and the rest don't care.
Few groups are
represented. The
groups consist of:Digital Media
Pathway(emerging
technologies);
Renewable Energy
Pathway and Academy.
The administration
chooses one
administrator to handle
the technology
programs and
technology
implementation on
campus, but it does notseem to be collective by
all of the administration.Technology classes
alone, we receive
planning and
implementation, which
consist of the
technology elective
classes and one English
class.All teachers are
required for ZANGLE
training, which consistsof taking roll
electronically,
attendance, IEPs and
English language
learner support.
On-going training for
new teachers for Zangle
and OARS .

Most of the staff take
advantage of tech
support, but since there
are only a few techs that
service the entire
district, it makes it hard
to receive immediate
attention.
We have an entire tech
support staff, but it is
limited since they have
to service approximately
17 schools. There is
one technology
specialist on campus
that services PCs and I
will service Macs.
We have a complete
high speed internet
system with a LAN onthe entire campus. It is
mainly for data.
High speed internet is
always up and running
in all areas, with few
issues.We have an extensive
WAN system that
reaches our district and
sister schools. I am an
administrator that deals
with the Digital Media
WAN.
Everything in this areais highly sophisticated
and is maintained by the
district tech dept.
All staff use the
internet, but student use
is limited
Internet use in all
classes and locations.
All Teachers utilize
email for communication
and school learning.
ALL teachers haveemail, but only a small
group of students have
access to email, due to
a ZANGLE student
based email issue.

Teachers will accept
new technology but
resources and funding
is limited.
Teachers will accept
and utilize technology if
received and trained
properly.
Technology such as:
computers, VCR/DVD/
overhead projectors are
available, but newer
technology is being
gradually implemented.
Limited technology for
staff and students which
consist of: computers,
overhead, printers,
digital camcorders, butas stated above, new
technology is being
introduced, such as flip
cameras.
